Honestly, I don't think I have ever seen anything that worked so ridiculously well! It's just stupid smooth! Makes those obstacles look like you were just out for a Sunday drive...lol.. Nice work!

I'm soooo glad it still crawls well with no front locker. I think I get away with it because so much more weight is on the front than the back 👍.

Good to see an actual rock crawler for once. I love technical slow rock crawling the way it used to be. you don't need 600 horsepower to crawl. Nice job.

Thank you! I'm kinda old school in that way. I prefer a slow crawl over big power. A lot can be accomplished with light weight and low gearing...

There's something so good about listening to a small diesel chug along barely off idle, doing what it's made to do--gobs of torque at low rpm. Thank you, Nate, for bringing us along!

Nate, what I did on my 404 axles was use the ox locker lever and machined an adapter to convert the push to engage method of those levers to the pull method needed by the 404 axle. I then built a bracket with a modified arm on the locker to engage the lockers. I've ran this setup for over 5 years without any issues so far. Plus, with this setup, I have 10000% confidence that when I engage the locker, they are fully engaged.

Thank you for the Samurai update! This might be the coolest build I have seen to date, and it looks like it's handling those rocks exactly like you intended. It is great seeing the double triangulated 4 link working over the rock sections - really shows off the advantages of this suspension setup - nice smooth motion with no sideways shifting or other bad manners.

I love it I was the first person back in 1989 to build a samy it was new and I ripped everything out I used 1947 Ford Willy's rears with 538 gears and put a V6 Chevy and automatic transmission from same car the motor came from and I had the 3rd drive shaft made that was like 6in long lol and used the stock samy case. And then topped it off with 36in swampers sx tires the first gen of them. And this thing was unstoppable it even floated in lakes. Only thing was the 6in shaft I couldn't drive it on the road or it vibrated so bad the shifter would disappear moving back and forth so fast. Lol. Then I switched back rear to a Dana 44 out of a mail jeep so I didn't have them key way drums lol. I have had several samys and wish I could find one cheap to build up because so much has changed since 1989. Great build I love it buddy
