    Thinking of purchasing one but the mileage on a full charge kind of scares me does it really only get 110 miles on a full charge ?

      Certainly it does. 110 miles of range may be during winter.

    I recommend looking at the manual cause most battery packs shouldn't be charged to 100%.

      Thank you for the comment! We know this information, which is why were surprised that MINI states it’s okay to charge it to 100%. There’s no settings either to limit it to 80%. - Brandan

      If the Cooper SE's battery pack is like the BMW i3 (and I believe it is), MINI has a buffer at the bottom and the top of the pack. This means the battery actually never gets to 0% SOC or 100% SOC. Charging to 100% doesn't actually reach 100% on the total battery capacity. And though not applicable to the Cooper SE, LFP battery packs (Tesla Model 3 RWD, some newer Model Ys, current Mach-e base model) can regularly be charged to 100%.

      Mini cooper se owner here. When you change to 100 percent it's not actually 100 percent. It's 33kw battery with 28.9 usable. The most you can charge is 88 percent. The car will just register that 88percent as 100 percent. Happy motoring people. 🍻

    Hi Brandan, how do you activate this feature?

    • @EverydayEV
      @EverydayEV  6 месяцев назад

      I’m sorry for just responding! The MINI started doing this on its own when we plugged into a DC Fast Charger. Sadly, at this time, there’s no way that I know of to manual precondition the battery for faster charging, it has to be plugged into a powerful enough charging station - Brandan

    Uhm no, that icon is for the climate control being activated from the app.

      Thanks for your comment Carlos! We were plugging into a charger at the time with the heat active, so it wasn’t activated from the mobile app. Still learning about the Mini so we appreciate the reply! - Tyler

      No it isn't. That icon is a fan.

      If memory serves me right from my i3 days, the symbol being discussed shows the battery is being heated to accept a charge. The climate control symbol is an icon of a fan.

    What exactly are the perks of an electric car again?

      I’ve seen some say their kids love sitting there and looking out the windows.
      Some say it’s great being a sitting duck .
      Some say it’s an exercise in patience waiting for your turn then actually getting to charge.
