- Prawn & Crab Curry Perima's Kitchen Recipe!
Ingredients
Fry:
Levelled tsp methi seeds
Add oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
2tsp ginger & garlic
1.5kg crab
6-8 tomatoes ( liquidize with 2 green chillies & a stem of curry leaves) set aside.
Oil
2 Onions
4green chilies
1stem curry leaves
1/2 to 1 tsp ginger & garlic
1 cinnamon stick
Bay leaves
2tsp turmeric
2tsp cumin ( jeera) powder
2tsp roasted Dhania powder
1/2 tsp somph
1/4 tsp elachi powder
3 tbs Kashmiri chilli powder
2tbs tamarind mixed in 2-2.5cups water
Add crab & salt to taste
Prawns ( 1kg) deveined with shells on , add handful of fresh coriander
1/2 cup boiling water
Chilli oil:
Oil
Curry leaves
1tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
Garnish with fresh coriander

Haven’t tried a combination of crab and prawn before.

I will try this combination as soon as I can find the Natal crabs. It is difficult to source this in Cape Town though prawns are readily available.

Instead of using so many tomatoes, try adding coconut milk/ cream to the recipe, it tastes absolutely divine

It was 2009, the IPL selected South Africa as a host however, most of the Indian based teams placed a ban on all South African Indian Chefs, their "quirk" leaned toward South African Indian cuisine falls years behind theirs, I must say though that Matthew Hayden opted for a local bunny, much to his satisfaction and advantage. I do very little in terms of Sub Continental cuisine bar Keralan, I find their cuisine bland, end of topic, I wont even indulge myself into verbs and adjectives. It would be a culinary sin presenting Sols masterpiece to anyone but a lover of authentic cuisine, this meal is conversation starter, how does one converse of such a dish if one does not share a common passion? This is a dish you do not eat, you explore. If one is familiar with quantum physics then they would appreciate the essence of an atom, this is a dish were every atom carries a distinct flavour, much like blissful culinary armageddon on a plate. One cannot rush this dish, that is sacrilege, this is a 3 to 4hr eat, that makes for a perfect inning, a double century and convincing victory with 10 balls to spare. Sol...masterclass !! We all had covid at the same time & have recovered but I have been having a problem with my arm, so Resh helps when it’s bigger more complicated meals, so not just my cooking but my editing is taking longer than usual & Shivayah is back to homeschooling so I try not to disturb her. I didnt know omg, I am just glad that you guys are ok, Doc had this second infection am i correct. Please tell him that I have the very issue as you expect that mine is on every limb, after Covid it gets excruciatingly painful, its been that way for a while now, I underwent nuclear xrays and I was told that its bone depletion due to Covid, with Ukraine on the table I wont expect much research done although I am exploring Harvard Reviews recent publication on "Covid Fog", its a psychological condition post Covid. You guys keep the faith, life is extraordinarily challenging post this Wuhan Virus, I am back on the market even though my physical condition serves as a constraint however its either that or insanity. Please keep me in the loop regarding u guys, u were badly and terribly missed.
@@Randy7201 gosh , I hope you are okay… it like we want to get on with things but our body has other plans 😅 im glad you have your sense of humour. Yes Resh’s second time. His symptoms weren’t as bad as the first time & the kids weren’t too bad either , initially I had a fright but they just as quickly recovered. I took a bit of a knock. It lasted for almost 3weeks. Thankfully I’m feeling more myself now, my voice is back & hopefully my arm situation will improve soonest. Hi Selena, have seen a few of your cooking / culinary skills demonstrated on You Tube and I cannot disagree with those that appreciate your talents. Personally, I have NOT tried any of your recipes but I have to assume that they, it MUST be delicious considering the number of people who have tried some of them. I promise to definitely TRY but cannot comment on something not experienced. Personally, even though I speak about myself when I say that I’m quite an accomplished cook / Chef myself, and I mean it considering the praise I receive as far as TASTE is concerned. Now this is not on any NATIONAL OR INTERNATIONAL LEVEL MIND YOU. A reason for this is that I do not advertise such culinary skills on any level whatsoever. I HAVE TASTED FOOD IN INDIA BUT NOTHING COMPARED OR EVEN CAME CLOSE TO MY MOTHERS COOKING. Please DO NOT misunderstand me. I know that your taste cannot be the same as mine. We ALL Have a unique sense of taste, ‘ONE MANS MEAT IS ANOTHER MANS POISON’ as the proverb goes. I’m probably writing gibberish now, PLEASE EXCUSE my misconceptions as well as my state of mind. You can't use the same method for every curry duh you can't cook
This is a guideline as to how I make my crab curry. I added prawns this time. It’s not the same for every curry.
