      Yeah, thanks for the advice. I've seen many farmers all over the country using pesticides sprays and stuff, and that's definitely not good.
      The only way around it, from what I can see, is buying food from a reputable restaurant or store that sells organic and clean stuff. But that's like impossible to find in Vietnam. The other only option is to grow my own food, which I'm actually starting to do at my rooftop apartment. Got some veggies and herbs going already. Too bad I can't farm raise chickens or fish, though. T_T

      Yeah, it was great. My girlfriend was craving for normal Vietnamese family-style dinner because mostly we were eating all kinds of new or "exotic" foods, which were yummy, but sometimes you just want comfort foods. She was very happy after we left that restaurant. ^^

    Cory nice one ! best places to eat are the family run ones lovely meal and not to much background noise . :)

      @CoryMay81  6 лет назад

      Yeah! I love family places like this. And it was nice being in some neighborhood without so much traffic driving by, and few customers. It's hard to find places that are as quiet as this one was. Luckily we went when we did and missed the busy dinner rush.

    That soup is made with catfish in the US. They don't eat carp here so I never got it with carp. Love the ribs too especially with cartilages.

      Oh really? Yeah, I've never seen carp being sold in the States for food, only for ponds and stuff.

    What does mukbang mean sorry i need to be updated lol?

    • @CoryMay81
      @CoryMay81  6 лет назад +2

      Mukbang is the term for videos of people eating food in front of a camera, and became famous because of South Korean mukbang stars. Eating in front of a live audience and having live chats with the viewers was what made it grow huge. Now people just eat in front of the camera. And another version of mukbang is the ASMR ones, where the person doesn't even talk, all you hear are the sounds of chewing and drinking and stuff. It's a category unto itself.
      Muk comes from 먹 (meok) which means to eat, and Bang (방) means room, in Korean. "Eating Room" essentially.

    • @CoryMay81
      @CoryMay81  6 лет назад +1

      Yeah! Mam tom is great. I prefer Mam tom with a little hot oil, and then mix it with calamansi juice and red chili peppers.
      It makes it more creamy and the taste is much deeper. ^^

    Mark Wiens is over Dramatic when he eats. He tries too hard when he eats. Nobody is that over Dramatic when they eat Food.

    • @CoryMay81
      @CoryMay81  6 лет назад +1

      I think all food shows on TV or RUclips all exaggerate to some extent, I'm guilty of it myself.
      Having a trademark gimmick is one of the important things for RUclipsrs... some kind of saying, action, or reaction in every video. Viewers look for that, and either they like it or they don't. I don't think Mark Wiens would be at 1.5+ million subscribers without his iconic laugh and lean all the way off the table actions or when his eyes get really huge. It's entertainment, and it worked for him. ^^
