I always went for silver, and starlight seems like a nice change. I always liked my macs to have bright colours. Midnight is said that it is a fingerprint magnet as well.
Hi Sotos, if you are the only one, I do not think so. Starlight is beautiful as well, but my preference indeed goes to midnight:)
That midnight is looking 🥵 can already tell it’s my favorite color out of the MacBooks.

I love the midnight... But can already tell its going to scratch real bad,, i mean the sample devices during the apple device were already scratched around the ports
Hi John, partly you are correct, but it also depends on how one uses the device. I have hardly any scratches on my previous MacBook that I used for many years
The M2 Air seems like a nice computer but after updrading the RAM to 16gb and the SSD to 1tb, it seems like your better off paying a little more for the 14" MB Pro. Cheers!
Hi Arch, good to hear from you. Yes, after the upgrading suggested by you the price difference is small, but the question is partly for whom and when the base model could be interesting. I have not made up my mind and will touch upon this issue in my upcoming review

Which of these two is better for a university use (take notes, watching videos, using excel and other stuff)?:
-MBA with 512 of SSD and 8gb of RAM
- MBA with 256 gb of SSD (with the storage issue) and 16 go of RAM
Considering that I would like to keep this MacBook for at least 5-6 years
I think the first option. 8gb is quite good to handle those kinds of work and 512gb of storage would give you, besides more storage, more speed too!
Assuming your use case does not get more demanding down the line.
You will benefit more from the 1st option .
-8gb RAM is more than enough for your use case, you will NOT notice a difference between this and the 16gb
-2 chips nand speed in the 512gb ssd is more noticeable when transfering larger files
If you absolutely want to futureproof for years to come. The 16gb RAM 512gb is the way to go. But, imo with the price increase defeats the purpose of getting an air, what is supposed to be a budget tier laptop for light to moderate users.
Also, financially it would make more sense to upgrade later and sell the current. Given apple laptops keeps it value very well, especially so for the base model.
@@TonyNguyen-it7vd agree..... As someone who has the same spec m1 air... I can agree 8gb is more than enough for a student... Considering i am video editing on this device and graphic design.... And the device is super fast... So i would recommend you only upgrade the storage
I really think you shouldn't consider 256gb of SSD because apple made it with 1 chip rather then 2 of 128! It really means half the speed! The 512gb option is 2 of 256. Double the speed

I am a CS undergrad student still in my first year. Planning to do lots of coding and development. Normal web surfing and some slight photo and video editing. I was thinking of the 16gb/256gb version? You think thats enough?
Hi, at present I do not know enough of this subject to give a well based reaction. Sorry about this. I will explore it more, but not in the very short run. I hope there is someone around there who has an expert opinion on this excellent question
In Greece, where I live, it has a base price of 1600€, and a price difference of 320€ from the m1 MacBook Air. That makes the m1 mba, the best deal even now.

256gb + 16gb of ram is what I did, you can always use an external hard drive!
I'd snag 256 GB with 16 GB of RAM. You can use cloud storage for files, and the RAM will give you plenty of room for browser tabs and running multiple applications at once. You're not going to need "speed" for any crazy large file transfers.
Hi Giovanni, I am in the middle of preparing the tests for this device, but my suggestion probably will be to go for the larger storage as apps etc over time tend to get bigger. And if you mainly use it for university related work, than the 8GB of RAM should be sufficient

Hi Guru, not easy to answer, it compares to different systems. It all comes down to what you are used to and in what ecosystem you work. What I can say so far (I am still testing) is that the M2 Air is exceptionally powerful thanks to Apple optimalization of the 8GB RAM

The least apple should have done was add the new screen to the m2 pro... That would have made sense

Hi, on dark colors fingerprints are always more visible than on the lighter colors, especially these days when the temperatures are higher and one sweats a bit more :(
@@DionMedia Also Dark colours get more scratch marks near USB-C port, wear and tear.

Time for Tim Cook to step down... The company and the brand would be better served by the direction of Jony Ive at the helm... I think Jobs would have agreed. Offering 8G/256 (w/ 1 SSD chip) is another example of corporate malfeasance.
It’s really not that big of a deal imo
The design is boring and derivative. The Ive Air wedge was iconic and functional (eg. easier to lift off a desk). A blocky box with sharpish edges is rather Dell/Lenovo-like tbh.
Hi Willem, Jony Ive has been part of the whole process over the past years so he is as “guilty” as anyone else :). Under Tim Cook Apple has grown tremendously and I do not see that change:). Yes, I see your point on the 1 SSD chip (against the past 2 chips) , but that is most likely related to the worldwide chip shortage. If this is not enough one has to upgrade I think
Jony Ive is a designer dude. He would NOT be able to run Apple like Tim Cook can because he's a business man.
Apple is running better than ever before thanks to Cook...
And do you seriously think that Ice or Jobs would've changed the config? With those two we maybe even still had a 4GB RAM model or 128GB...
