  • The Aveo Engineering Zip Tip Premiers are just plain sexy. In this video I am going to show you how I installed the Zip Tips on my RV10 and some tips I learned from other builders to help prevent the gap to the aileron that so many builders complain about.
There are also Zip Tip instructions on how to setup the wiring and mount a Bob Archer antenna.

I thought the flaps have a +2° up reflex position for high-speed flight, so why are you mounting the ailerons in the reflex position?

@@svbeautimous4576 The Van's instructions say to allow the flaps to hit their full up position, with about 2 degrees of reflex, then MATCH the ailerons to the flaps.

@@RyanGromfin thanks I’m not that far yet but after thinking about it, this gives you more washout in the wing if you takeoff with flaps at 0°

@@svbeautimous4576 Not being an engineer or fully understanding the aerodynamics of washout and reflex, I think it's more about aesthetics to the eye when parked on the ground. The reality is both ailerons will rarely be in their perfect neutral position, maybe with the control surface gusset on they will be, but I know plenty of builders that didn't go through the work I did to try and match them up. The van's tips are very thin in the back, so bending them to match and then riveting in the aluminum wedge is easy. When aveo "copied" the vans tips, they did not account for the reflex.
