- While I am not ready to install the o2 system into my RV10, I did purchase it at EAA Airventure Oshkosh 2023 to use in my 182 until we are ready to put it into the RV10.
My son and wife get a bit sick when we fly and I am certain that having supplemental oxygen will help them feel better. We have not flown with it yet, but as soon as we do, I will update you.
I hope that the tips I am providing in this section are helpful for you in your build.

In 3,800 hours of flying I've used my portable O2 system about 20 hours. So 0.5% of the time, or one hour every 200 flight hours. I'm going to save the weight and keep my portable system portable for my RV10. Great video. Keep em' coming!
Thanks for sharing. My wife gets sick and I noticed on long flights even at 9,000 ft. I was starting feel the effects. The bottle is the weight, I can always easily remove that.
Did you get the email this week from Aithre about their Turbo Oxygen Maker? 5 amps, and 5 pounds... sounds amazing as an alternative to cylinders and refills.
Missing from the announcement was the price; which probably puts it beyond my means.
Oops - meant to leave that comment from my airplane channel and not the cooking -
I did, it is interesting for sure. Another reason to not buy stuff till you need it. I will say that the refill on this is pretty easy. You can rent a cylinder for $150 a year and then buying a filling valve from Aithre. My buddy and I did this it took 10 minutes.
It was great meeting you at OSH! I’m putting in an O2 system in mine because I want the option of flying in Class A. I do like the idea @buildflygo had for having his tank be removable for refilling at a scuba shop.
It was great meeting you too. I am not sure how well the RV10 does above 18,000. I am putting the system in because I notice myself getting tired on long flights in the 9-11k ft. range. I hope to fly higher and then will need it for sure. Also my wife and son get a bit sick sometimes even an lower levels, this has helped them feel better.
Nice Ryan!! What made you go with this system over Mountain High
I think you should compare the features and prices yourself. I didn't do a ton, but I did enough to know when I spoke to Jim and Zu (the owners) as Oshkosh that their system was right for me and the Osh show price was also.
