I think they did announce Matter support at the first time, then retracted for new devices. I think there is an hardware issue.
How do you know what product gets updated? I’m looking forward to Nest thermostats and Ring cameras working in HomeKit.

I need to make a decision this week on whether or not I go with Google or Apple HomeKit. I really want to use Apple HomeKit, but right now, google works with all 10 of my nest cameras. Not sure what to do?

Does this mean my Nest can go into HomeKit?
Depends what Nest products you have. For example, the Nest Doorbells with not be support in Matter 1.0 but should be coming later when Matter supports cameras. As far as I’m aware, no updates for Nest devices have yet to be released (as of 8 Nov 2022) but should be coming soon.

I’ve read that the new 4x Nanoleaf matter products won’t be compatible with HomeKit Adaptive Lighting.

I don’t think they will until the later specs when cameras are included
I cannot see the benefit with cameras in HomeKit until they allow a higher resolution for secure video. No point invested in 2k and 4k cameras when the video stored in HomeKit is 1080p, might as well stay with the platform.
No news about Tuya... shame...

They confirmed that we should see the next update march April 2023 and it’s twice a year.
It can actually mean both once every 2 years, or twice per year... which is extremely confusing IMO

Generally ‘biennial’ is used to describe once every 2 years.
