      Maybe a good rule of thumb from now on, is for cards in other languages to have an english card sitting nearby, maybe in a token stack that accompanies the decks, just to avoid these issues.

    I know you guys rule-0'd it and I'm sure you had fun as the players, but from a viewer's perspective it's not really enjoyable to watch 50% of the players do almost nothing. I love Light Paws and was hoping to see some more back-and-forth between her and the other decks. Cool game to watch nonetheless, but I think having 4 decks that are closer together power-wise would just make for a more enjoyable experience for the viewers.

    Cass said "Toot that thang", he was already watching the coronet being tutored. When the coronet was being cast, he responded by drawing 2 cards. If it was a bounce spell, he'd be safe but it wasn't. Seemed like a shady move to me, but when playing with friends, I have experienced letting those things slide. As long as the whole table agreed on the take-backsie, it should be fine.

    Dang Cassius really said “but if I’m not responding to daybreak coronet then I’m dead on board” after daybreak coronet resolved..... and all that glitters was on the stack.....I think that means he ....lost?
    Dude showed up with a clearly (played out) over powered deck, fumbled through misplay after misplay, I mean did he roll for his foil mana crypt once? With an 18 life total lol. We get it dude, you’re rich, you have shiny stuff and think the rules of the game don’t apply to you lmao or are all his cards Japanese? /s
    The little replay should have been daybreak coronet on the stack, Cassius not responding, it resolving and all that glitters going on the stack, and Cassius countering that, he’d still be dead to commander damage. Or am I misunderstanding this?
    I don’t think Devin even played. Would have much rather seen the rest of the table play it out after Joe took Cassius out. Was weird to watch Joe weirdly submit to Cassius, when he was obviously right, on his own show nonetheless.

    • @TabletopJocks
      @TabletopJocks  2 года назад +2

      Honestly I think that’s just combo decks in general. Like if you’re playing Blue/Black I can almost always expect to see Thoricle combo. Even in casual decks I’m seeing it more now because it’s so easy to pull off. I barely run any combos in my decks, I’m more of a voltron/swing all my creatures type of player lol

    • @herschelruskin432
      @herschelruskin432 Год назад +1

      I mean that's litterally not true. There are so many cedh combos and the ones played in urza are played in very few other decks. Isorev in some but it's typically not good enough for non mono blue / azorious. Power grim is basically used in no other decks and polymoprh for kraken exists in like 2 decks temur poly and urza. There are tons of unique combo and winning lines and most decks do not run the same except 4c/5c piles.

    • @maximeyer3151
      @maximeyer3151 Год назад

      Not really... If you don't play blue/black, you can see many different Combos. Sure, Oracle + Consult/Pact is kinda boring and always the same. But outside of that specific line you can find many interesting ways to close out the game.
      These combos feel even more unfair, when nobody counters them.
      So just be in the same page.

      Since he mentioned that he's playing Urza Power Scepter, I assume it's a standard list (and I saw no cards deviate from it).
      He could've exiled everything until he exiles a codex shredder, then, as he untaps everything with Isochron + Dramatic Reversal, he'd get infinite mill to mill out all of his opponents and then cast Windfall. (If he'd get to that point with less than 6 cards in his library, he'd have to just mill their opponent to 0 and pass turn, but there is a few way to heavily mitigates that change, by hitting tutors that can get Codex Shredder and Windfall before being down to 7 cards). However, we also know that some of the players have Eldrazi's that shuffle the Library (we know that atleast Ashlen has Ulamog in her deck, we can see it when she's shuffling from the Time Twister at 15:45), so he'd have to mill until Ulamog is her last card and she'd at least have an extra turn (with Ulamog as a draw) before losing on subsequent turns.
      (If he did deviate from the standard list, he could also just have a Thassa's Oracle)
      That being said, I'm really not sure if Cassius knew the exact line he could take, I would've definately asked him to go through it and show the win (or at least explain the line he was going to take other than "I just play everything")!

      @@diphoration_ he did deviate from the list. There is a decklist in the description. There is no codex shredder and no Thassa's oracle. There is no way to get a card back from the yard other than mystic sanctuary (but land drop was already used this turn). If he exiles his whole library, he can do a copy artifact + swan song infinite swans loop but he would lose in his drawstep of the next turn

    Cass really out here tutoring every turn, playing CEDH decks with high power and playing super expensive cards but misses so many things, is the only one taking takesys backsys. Dude how you gon counter a spell AFTER the spell hit the ground and all that, I get it but having someone take back their whole ass turn isn’t too fair

      he actually doesn’t have a win in his deck. he’d probly be able to bounce all the non land permanents of his opponents but as best i can tell, he is stuck with combat damage as an eventual wincon (mostly with the construct). he doesn’t even seem to have any twister loops
