Skill wise T-Mac was probably the 3rd of 4th best shooting guard we ever saw. The best shooting guards I've ever seen personally are 1. MJ, 2. Kobe, 3. Wade, 4. T-Mac, 5. Iverson. 5 of my favorite players. Along with Penny and Grant Hill.
Yeah I like Tracy McGrady too. Kobe is very overrated because he was kinda inefficient for a guy that had Shaq as a teammate on a championship team. Give me Wade and McGrady over Kobe if they could stay healthy! And that’s probably what it is. Health and not having a team around them in their prime. But when healthy and on top of their game, no doubt Wade and TMac are greater and more gifted players. Also I think TMac qualifies as a SF, I’m not sure.

This was a great match up. I watched it live but they let Kobe get away with so much. He was grabbing and holding Tmac like crazy while Tmac was playing clean defense on Kobe. Kobe had atleast 10 fouls lol

Everytime i rewatch these old tmac videos it makes me mad as fuck he disnt stay in toronto. If him and vince carter would have stuck together and got even ONE solid complimentary big man to come to toronto they would have at least one title. Even kobe said this back in like 2007 or so.
kobe is so good but T-mac's jumpshot is too beautiful, goodlooking and too painful to watch.

I believe Kobe gave Mac so much praise because he knew the truth. At one in his Orlando years Mac was the better player. But the league had chosen Kob to be the next MJ( he himself chose to be the next MJ: at one point even imitating how he chewed gum/walked etc). However, unlike what Mac said at the end of this game Kob wanted to be the best so he did everything in his power to truly become the best in the league ( his foot work got better, moves outside of crossover etc). Eventually did become the best of the two. Mac injuries and horrible teams didn’t help( Hill injuries and Yao’s ).

No because Kobe was an elite 2 way player. Kobe is 1 of 3 players in history with at least 10 all nba selections & 10 all nba defensive selections with Duncan & Kareem. T-Mac has never been on Kobe’s level ever. Kobe just gives guys props, T-Mac not the only one. He said KD was the hardest to guard.
T-Mac did most of his damage in the weaker east. Kobe was dominating the BEST teams in the league: SAS, SAC, POR, DAL
