Pigs are scary. They absolutely can and will eat you if they get the chance, even the domesticated ones. And wild boars are some of the most aggressive wild animals you'll ever meet.

Who else had the game? ✋ Essentially the same premise as the Jaws game from several years’ before, where you attempted to retrieve objects from the monster’s open mouth before it mechanically (and unpredictably) snapped shut… imagine that?! 🤯😁

Actually Deep Star Six had many recognized TV actors from it's day in it, the main reason it doesn't get much respect is the movie Leviathan came out around the same time and had pretty much the same premise with more familiar actors.

I worked at a video store from 1987-89 in my first two years of college. Perfect job for me as a film fan; I'd do it again in an instant. I remember the VHS box of "The Brain" but never took it home. I really want to see "Razorback" as I've heard a lot about it, all positive. "Alligator" is tons of fun and the 4K looks beautiful, very much like a 35 mm print in excellent condition. And pets being eaten in the sewers...and Jack Carter being carried away pool-side. Oh, man...I remember the VHS box of "The Kindred" in the video store as well, Anthony...never took it home, though.

    DUDE... ❤
THIS VIDEO WAS PHENOMENAL!! AND LOADS OF FUN TO HEAR FROM NEW HORROR CHANNELS I'VE NEVER HEARD OF BEFORE!! SO DAMN COOL!! 😅
You, my friend, have just earned yourself a new subscriber with all the bells on! Keep 'em coming!! I eat, sleep, and breathe horror, and I need to talk about it a lot with like minds! This is great!
P.S. -- ALLIGATOR used to be that movie I would hunt down on the weekends in the early 90s on USA NETWORK or TNT or whatever, and I was obsessed with it!! Nobody knew what movie I was talking about on the playground, but it was so amazing I always had to track down who was playing Parts 1 and 2 that weekend. I was about 10 or 11 when I discovered it, and I was already obsessed with the JAWS series and Horror in general (my best friend's older brother, who was 16, would go to the Mom n' Pop video rental stores and get us whatever we wanted to watch during sleepovers. Anything with Jason in it was preferred. 😊). It was great to be a kid in the 80s... when the weekends came, we had the best Saturday Morning Cartoons, we played with the best toys that are iconic now, and when the sun set we had the best scary movies to creep ourselves out to when we thought our folks wouldn't find out. Lol Incidentally, it's how we saw naked women for the first time too. Lol Taboos all around for an 80s kid...

First off, “Alligator” was one of the first Low Budget Horror movies that my Mother took me to see. I remember the majority of this movie from memory. It was also the first time that I have seen actor, Henry Silva (The Hunter in this movie). The “Limo” scene was the highlight for me. Even though I only saw this movie once on Cable TV, I can definitely vouch for “Razorback.” That movie had me on the edge of my seat as much as the “Jaws” franchise. Finally, “Kindred” had me more grossed out than scared, but a Good Low Budget Horror film, nevertheless.

Almost got crushed by a 400 lb (estimate: It may have been even more than that) section of plaster "monster brain" mold (which really should have been made in sections). Btu, here, all these years later I see someone actually had some fun watching it. Who woulda thought? The creature guy passed away a few decades ago/never got to grow old making monsters. My favorite underrated creature film of the 80s isn't on this list. I love cheesy creature movies, and this is so bad it's not only good, it's funny. It's Humanoids from the Deep. It stars Doug McClure, and was released in 1980. Again, it's set in a small town, people start dying and pretty teenage girls start disappearing. If you like cheesy creature features, you need to check this one out.

I remember watching an actual show called Creature Feature at my grandparents growing up in 70s and 80s. Introduced me to a lot of Hammer and other horror gems. On a side note, I recently finished a book called Slugs by Shaun Hutson. Wonder if the movie is any way related to it (haven't seen the movie).

Deadly Spawn is a fun one to. Spookies is a great creature film.

Blood Beach is one that nobody really talks about much.

Oh wow, I've actually seen all of these. I can't believe it. That NEVER happens to me with lists like this.
I just happened to be a huge horror fan who grew up in the 80s and loved lower budget horror films. I'm also lucky that I had a relative that ran a video store who was also into B-grade schlock flicks.
These are all excellent choices. All of these would have made my top ten. But I probably would have wanted to make it 15, because there are a few more I'd add.
I'm a huge fan of The Boogens, Rawhead Rex, and Razorback.

Ever seen Bug, starring Bradford Dillman? That may be my favorite cockroach-related horror movie. Also, how does Deepstar Six stack up against Leviathan, which seems roughly similar? Finally, I just plain love Alligator. Thanks!

I can vouch for Razorback being a visual treat (GoodBadFlicks covered this a while ago, and when The Horror Geek also covered it I got the Blu-ray right after). Alligator is a childhood staple of mine, frequently rented it from Blockbuster and was so glad when the 4k got released because it was hard to get a high-quality copy (tons of cheap DVD copies on eBay from South Korea, good quality but not HD). I also saw The Brain and it's a good film. I still need to see Rawhead Rex, hopefully I can fit it in this year and not forget again.
