It's a fantastic sequel. The gothic atmosphere is incredible. I do enjoy all the characters as well. Like you said this is a monstrous Dracula but its great to hear Lee speak again.

There were some great 80s vibes with Primal Rage, but ultimately, I feel it fell way short of its potential. I think this one deserves a quality remake. I watched it about a year ago on that exact Blu-ray.

WNUF Halloween special is a great deal of fun, but it owes everything to the BBC's Ghostwatch from, I think, 1990, which was an actual live broadcast.

Dark Harvest is ok. Based on a book that's also just ok, but the movie is a weirdly bad adaptation, and for seemingly no reason. The major changes don't improve or streamline anything. Quite strange.

Satan's Little Helper deserves way more attention. It won't be for everyone, but I find it uniquely engaging, and it hits a really unique tone.

Saw Hauntedween in a theater a few years back. It's nonsense, and terrible, but was so much fun. A terrible movie, but a great time.

A few years ago I watched both Black Pumpkin and something called Halloween Party on Amazon, but I found Black Pumpkin to be quite bad by comparison to the cheaper Halloween Party.

Unfortunately there seems to be some rights issue with this movie as it has been unavailable for years here in the UK. by the way you are correct about the cuts as the British Board of Film Censors demanded cuts to the cinema version when it was submitted for classification in 1960!

I agree, especially your number one choice, but you are too kind with Ridley Scott's version. It looks good but what it does with English history is shameful (a French invasion, wha?).

I appreciate your review. I liked this movie a bit better. The rich colors and set designs colors are deep and almost unreal once the characters get off the college campus. Reminding me of the gaudy colors and set designs used in Susperia. The opening title sequence and soundtrack music were outstanding. You didn’t mention that Talia Shire and Sam Jaffe are also in this. The movie needs to be watched in a pitch black room to get the full effect of the very colorful strobe light effect used near the end of the film. That’s the payoff for my money.

Great list! Watching this totally reminded me of Silence of the Prey. That one still haunts me to this day - the suspense and tension are next level. If you're into scary movies, you should definitely check it out!

I may be a little late to this party since I just found this fantastic channel. That being said, TERROR TRAIN deserves more love than you gave it. Next to Halloween (OG), this is my favorite Jamie Lee Curtis slasher film. The earring scene still gets me every time.

I love this Anthology because of the Peter Crushing's story. I wanted to see the Dad and Son CRUSHED INTO DUST for being so awful.

I love The Lady in White...so well done...and checks all the Halloween boxes for me.

I love the scenes with Margaret Dumont and Groucho (especially on Duck Soup ) where she is taken in by him despite everything he says. The scene in City Lights at the end is classic.

Hey Daniel! You are spot on about this being the greatest Dracula sequel in the whole Hammer franchise. This film has always been one of my faves since I was a kid. I remember staying up late on a saturday night as a small kid to watch The Horror Double Bill on BBC - they used to show both a Dracula and a Frankenstein movie :)

Dude, there's a TON of 1950s teen movies besides Rebel Without A Cause. There's Blackboard Jungle, High School Caesar, High School Confidential, College Confidential, Teenage Doll, The Wild Ride (with Jack Nicholson), Beat Girl, Man Bait, Rock Baby Rock It, Gun Girls, Girl Gang, The Violent Years, Running Wild and Hot Rod Rumble. Horror based ones were How To Make A Monster, Invasion Of The Saucer Men, Blood Of Dracula, Teenagers From Mars, The Blob and I Was A Teenage Werewolf.

Very happy to say i completely agree with you. Last year I did an almost complete watch off all films for the first time and this was definitely my favorite after Horror of Dracula. You put it in words perfectly , just something about this film which screamed that it was on a whole other level. Having Lee speak does so much. Actually wanna rewatch it rn

I think the Forsaken is underrated for a 90s vampire movie. Oh damn it's 2001 so I was just a bit off lol.

Shakespeare, in a lot of ways was the canon of his time. He didn’t create high art, he created art for the masses. His plays are full of sex jokes, alcoholism, violence, slapstick, And melodrama. The Bard was a genius, but he was not stuffy, and he probably would’ve loved Canon films.

If I recall correctly, the reasin why Christopher Lee was given so few lines of dialogue and screen time is that Hammer paid his salary based upon those things. So the less he appeared/said, the less they had to pay him.

"Dracula Has Risen from the Grave" was my first horror movie seen at a drive in. I remember covering my eyes, watching from the back seat as my parents watched from the front. My second movie was another Hammer classic: "The Lost Continent" (1968). If you've never seen it, you definately should. Not your usual Hammer flick. I highly recommend it.

It's a good flick. Has amazing style and wonderful visuals thanks to Freddie Francis. But it's NOT my favorite Hammer Horror sequel. There's a few others I prefer. But I appreciate your enthusiasm, Daniel. 🤟✊

I love 'Messiah of Evil'! I stumbled upon this flick one night with no idea what I was in for. Dread is definitely the word to describe this flick. Horror movies don't usually stay with me, but I had a hard time shaking this one off. One town/film not on your list that deserves to be is the fictional town of 'Potter's Bluff' from 'Dead and Buried' (1981)
