- I went climbing up weirs and waterfalls, through town and woodland and into the hills... looking for places and things of interest.
This is part three of a trek, starting off where I finished the 2nd part and finishing where I ran out of stream to walk in.
The 1st part: • Trains, Drains, and wa...
The 2nd Part: • A stream of many weirs...

33 minutes of total calm in a very hectic world. Thank you Tom.
Thanks Vincent, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
This stream is hidden, mysterious beauty.
A treat for eyes and ears, balm for the soul.
Beautiful quaint stream. Even if you don't find much, the calm walk is still a joy to watch.
Thank you, I agree, it was a beautiful stream. 🙂
Magical Tom, walking those Yorkshire rivers/streams with you is a pure delight! Thank you so much for your efforts, this video was a great start to our Sunday morning. Pleased to see you getting your energy back.
Tom, your videos are relaxing and entertaining whether you find anything or not. They really help me get unstressed by listening to your soft voice and seeing the beauty there.
You are so fortunate to live in such an interesting area Tom! The stonework around the stream is done by true craftsmen. Imagine living next to a small waterfall and leaving a window open year round, just to hear it!
Very enjoyable explore no matter the finds or lack thereof, always!👍🏻❤
Thanks Spicencens, I do feel very fortunate to be living in this area. I lived within hearing range of a small river for most of my life, and fell asleep to its sound every night, it was nice and I kinda miss it. This place has its view though. 🙂
@@tomburleigh9261 YES! A beautiful view!! Regards.
I enjoy your stream walks no matter the finds. Just listening to the water, your voice and music as well as just taking in the beautiful scenery. Thanks Tom, I hope this finds you well. Till next time...
The power of water & trees.
Смотрю и слушаю Ваш голос, музыку и звуки природы. Язык не понимаю, настроила субтитры, но жаль, совсем не то. Релакс, наслаждение, покой для души, уходят волнения. Спасибо!
Can't wait
Thanks Stephen, I hope the wait is worth it. 🙂
Was relaxing n interesting
Such pretty and magical countryside! No wonder Tolkien was able to write an opus with admirable landscapes with so many locations to draw on. Take care. ✌🏼❤️
Wow! The rope worn cut piece of stone, what a find that would be my top find to be included into my ‘wall of life”
Tom,
You could make a video of dirt and talk about it through the entire video, I would watch and listen. You have the best voice for narration. Anne
Yaaay! That's what i needed in the end of a looooong day.
Thanks Полина Саксонова 🙂
Hello Mr. Tom. Your videos are always magical. The music you play on your videos is so soothing. And your soft voice draws me into your videos. You take us on your adventures. And I love seeing part of your homeland. I look forward to more video. Thank you so much.
Hello 👋 from New York USA Thank you for Bringing me Along with you it was Absolutely Beautiful and Peaceful 😊
Thank you Tom that was just the thing I needed to relax after a very taxing day. Thank you for taking the rubbish out of the water. Take care and thank you for sharing your walk. 👍🙏❤️
🙋♀️❤ What a lovely walk, as always, on such a pretty day! Thank you, Tom. and ducks!
Happy you took the balloon. It would be terrible if an animal tried to eat it. I have enjoyed this series and hope you do film some more. Stay well.
Thanks Kathy, I agree, that thought motivates most of my removal of plastic and rubber. I'm glad you've enjoyed the series, I went out exploring some of the downstream parts this week, and am enthusiastic about the possibilities for filming 🙂.
Tom, that is one of the most beautiful streams I have ever seen. I was unable to do any outdoor walks all summer so I appreciate you making your films. They encourage me to get better. Thank you so much!
Even watching you pick up trash is entertaining. The setting is beautiful in itself.
Mother nature must love you! I’m so impressed on how much stuff you’re able to remove from the waterways over in your area. That’s just wonderful.
Thanks Nanc, I do what I can... and most of what I can do is show other people that there are things to find, and removing some trash along the way is pretty easy. 🙂
Thank you for taking us on another lovely walk. I really enjoyed it.
Its so nice to see green and water, being in South California its dust and cars and buildings.
Glad you enjoy the scenery I can show. I hope to visit California someday, travel the coastal roads all the way up. Or down. 🙂
I hope you realize that there are some of us watching - that are hoping mother nature and or karma repay you for all the wonderful things you do for nature and mother earth !
Seeing your videos always makes my day. Love you from Florida USA
Thanks Kathleen, I'm glad you enjoy them 🙂
A very Lovely Walk , I do so enjoy being included for these walks . Enjoyed it so much.
Love the scenery and pleasure to see all the interesting things you find, and such a lovely country you have . 🧡☑
I live in southwest United States. I miss the color green. Thank you showing me beautiful colors.
Thanks Diane, I'm glad you enjoy the scenery I'm able to film here. 🙂
Always love a stream walk.
Love the beautiful, peaceful stroll. Your view is amazing. Thanks for letting us come along. ❤
Love your walking videos thru the streams into the country side. You have the most soothing voice. Great story teller
Tom,
I pushed the wrong button and all my inspired thoughts
about this walk went away, but looking at those ancient man made reminders of a long gone era,
presented by you, are so relaxing.
For me, not you:)
A fellow youtuber from Pennsylvania, The Wandering Woodsman, quotes Tolkien, "Not All Who Wander Are Lost".
You Wade in the waters but aren't lost :)
AS fall deepens and Winter approaches, we know Spring won't be far behind and you will be there,
guiding us through the past with your soft voice and cogent remarks.
Cheers,
Rik
You definitely live in a beautiful part of the world 🌎 🌳🌱🍀🌿
Thank you Tom Hope you're well xxx
I love the river walks! I walk the local creeks, the more I am there, the less plastic. I will watch your channel if you are finding treasures, picking up rubbish or reading Invictus 🌞
Good end to a hard day , thank you 👍👍👍
Thanks Pamela, I hope the day wasn't hard in a particularly bad way, and that you have easier days to look forward to. 🙂
Lovely video Tom. I know I have said this before but we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country 😊💗 x
We treat the earth like a giant toilet. Despite it all, how beautiful it is there streamside. Thank you so much for the ton of junk you've salvaged. I'm here in So. Cal. picking up things off our beach like plastic toys and big rusty fish hooks. May you be blessed beyond measure, Tom.
Too true Jen. I'm glad there are others pulling the trash back out of places that shouldn't have them. May you too be blessed beyond measure. 🙂
I think you mean They do, betcha we dont!
@@juneyshu6197 Unfortunately the amount of packaging and disposables that we all use here in the USA and other places makes us all complicit. Recycling only reduces waste by about 8 percent.
I love to see the green and the water in all of your videos. I live in northern New Mexico, in the mountains, so some green, but little water.
It's beautiful where you live, that river is gorgeous and looks like it'd be nice to kayak down. Video is awesome, I get to enjoy your scenery, and you mine. 🙂
This is so relaxing to watch. The stream is so beautiful along with the country side view.
I took a long walk in a nearby forest today pretending to be as observant as you are. We are all ablaze in color here in New England, but nice to walk in "old" England on the same day. Thank you.
I wouldn't really recommend being as observant as I am, I see a lot that I wish I didn't. But if you do want it; I found out that I could supercharge it with exercise... I spent half an hour outside, trying to notice everything, and then wrote down every little detail that I could remember. Did it for a week, and became about 3 times as observant as I currently am now, lasted for months. 🙂
Brilliant!
A lark with you through beautiful places, just what i needed today, cant wait, thanks tom burleigh!🤗😉😁
Thanks Lmb, I hope it's worth the wait. 🙂
It was indeed🥰🤗
The ducks were an adorable addition to your stroll! I enjoyed seeing them throughout the video.
Thanks Theresa, I was sad to have split them up, but it was great when they got back together. 🙂
Hi Tom. Always love to hear from you. Such a gentle soul and always so informative of your surroundings and respectful of the wildlife. Look forward to the next video. Meanwhile, take care.
God bless.
What a lovely area to explore Tom 👍😊 still enjoy your videos no matter what you find. Thank you for taking us along with you 🙂
Tom, no need for alarm about the plant at 11:42 you brushed up against. Rather than Hemlock Water Dropwort (Oenanthe crocata), of the Umbelliferae family, I think you found a garden escape of the white form of 'Jacob's Ladder' or 'Greek Valerian', Polemonium caeruleum. There were lots of garden escape plants along that stretch of river as it is probably used for disposing of unrequired vegetation and not just copper wire.
That was a lovely walk in the weir and waterway. So relaxing. Thank you Mr. Tom Burleigh. Greetings from the U.S.A.
Thanks Peggy, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Hello Tom thank you for another lovely walk
Do you sell a CD if you're music ?
Thanks Aj ay, I'm glad you enjoyed it. No, I haven't got anything like enough finished music to put a CD out. Maybe one day, but no plans as yet. 🙂
Nice scenery..I applaud you're cleaning the rivers up!🍀💚
Tom! It’s lovely to see you again.
💖 well, I finally worked out how to add a well-deserved heart! And believe me when I tell you how much I enjoy your walks in the rivers. I have to say how much I loved walking along side you. I used to do detecting here in Australia, but, alas, my back has finally given up on me! Goodnight from me, Elizabeth. Look forward to your next water Wade 😏
lovely, thank you Tom.
Hi Tom! Very interesting and calming video, as always. I never see so much beautiful green in other videos. The knobbly glass reminds me of how salt and pepper shakers sometimes look. 🌻
Your videos give me enjoyment. Enchanting as always. Good fun, short or long is no matter for me. Many thanks for making these.
My pleasure Victor, I like making things that people get enjoyment from. 🙂
The knobbly glass could possibly be a screw in lamp shade from a 3 piece chandelier. My mother had 1.
What a beautiful little stream. Lovely video Tom, thank you!
Thanks Leanne, I agree... it was lovely to walk in it, so much prettier than most. I'm glad you enjoyed the resultant video. 🙂
I was happy to see your video pop up in my feed tonight. It's been a very chilly wet day here in southwestern Ontario. Winter is in a hurry to arrive. 🥶 So a ramble in a lovely steam, with ducks and beautiful greenery all around was just the ticket for my evening viewing. 😁😍 I had a few mad moments imagining you indiscriminately flinging objects up onto either bank. 🤣🤣 You chose wisely, though. 👍 I can't figure out how you ascend those weirs without slipping on algae. Your wellies must have studded treads. 😲😂 My condolences on your hard drive. I upgraded 7 months ago because I was starting to get nervous about that very issue. The downside is having to learn an entirely new operating platform. These days I often feel like a hostage to technology. 😮💨 Keep doing what you need to do for your best health & welfare, Tom. I'll see you again when you next pop up. 😊💛👍
Thanks for sharing this video. The location was beautiful. Loved the way you kept clear of the ducks. Take care and thanks again.Rob from Adelaide.
Great river walk Tom always enjoy your walks and larks , you absolutely amaze me how sure footed you are in the rivers especially climbing up the weir's I would be flat on my face lol , hope you are keeping well mate take care
Another lovely stream walk. Thank you Tom.
Thanks Kathleen, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Beautiful scenes! I am glad you take away the plastics along your travels, :) thank you! I wish I knew all the plants I see through your videos, some I do recognize, like the witch hazel, and the maple. I love the ferns as they grow along the waterways and the little waterfalls, Would make beautiful desktop backgrounds and calendars!
I always enjoy you walks. Thank you for being you. A caring man and an interesting wandering man. Lol
At one point Gardeners World suggested putting polystyrene in pots to reduce the weight of them.
I enjoy seeing different areas of the streams and the music is very relaxing! I would like to see videos that are combined of a lot of streams and scenery along with your music. I have a hard time sleepy! The water sounds along with your music is very relaxing to me! I'd put it on a loop to replay over and over again!
Beautiful, beautiful countryside, water, ducks etc. was wonderful Tom. Thanks for taking me along. 🇨🇦
Thanks Joanne, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Tom thank you
Have missed you, Immensely.
I love your videos Tom they are great I find them really relaxing too
Thanks Angie. 🙂
Enjoyed this video again, so beautiful and peaceful, love how the ferns are growing and the water is music to my ears.
One of your best. Good night Tom.
Lovely way to spend your time🖖🕊️
Yes, one of my favourite hobbies. 🙂
Fantastic video as ever Tom! Thank you.
Thanks Lexie, I'm glad you think so. 🙂
Thank you Tom, that was the perfect accompaniment to sitting here quilting. I was intrigued by the strange lump of stone/fossilised wood, have you ever been back for it ? The immediate scenery of this particular part of the stream was lovely, considering there were houses so close by.
Thanks Christine. I haven't been back yet, and I don't know if I could actually carry that stone out of there. It would have to be in a padded backpack, and I don't know if any of the backpacks I have could stand that weight. It is a lovely section of stream, and I hope I can make it back there sometime soon 🙂. Though there's probably not enough in it to warrant another video.
I love sitting and watching your videos whilst crafting xx I love your voice it is so relaxing xx
Wishing everyone Peace of Mind, Relaxation of Body & a Kind & Strong Spirit.
Beautiful stream journey, Thankyou.
Thanks Sarah, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Could the knobbly glass be a fancy cruet stopper minus the bottom? I've seen smaller versions of that sort of thing.
Ah, yes... that does seem like a strong possibility. I've seen cut glass ones, nothing quite like this, but it makes more sense than most of the other options. Thanks Louise. 🙂
Great to see another video, Tom. I love the walks and seeing the ducks around and about. Thank you for taking the trash If all the Mudlarks took some trash the world would be a more beautiful place. If people, in general, would pick up just some trash when their out.
Thanks Pam, I'm glad you enjoyed it. And yes, if everyone could pick up a little trash while out it would make a huge difference... happy to report that a few people have taken it up after seeing me do it in videos. 🙂
@@tomburleigh9261 Great to know.
Thanks Tom love your work . Since you have the tumbler now I will suggest a youtuber called Michigan rocks He and his wife make great rock hunting and tumbling videos. He has many how to on tumbling as well. Thanks again always a pleasure watching .
Oh, I suggest Ragnarocks channel. He tumbles rocks, but he's still learning, like he put a bunch of marble through stage 1 or like 2 weeks and basically got pebbles, but some of his efforts turn out great.
Always enjoyable video. Thank you Sir.
Beautiful video, thank you for sharing your day out.
Great video. The bridges are so pretty
Thanks Judy, and I agree...that little stream has many pretty little bridges. 🙂
Thanks!
Thanks so much Artie, very kind of you. 🙂
Even with the odd bottom, it is see-through and does stay flat, so... salt & pepper shaker as a possibility for 31:22 ??? Thank you for the adventures. :-)
Thanks Michael, that seems to me to be a very strong possibility. 🙂
Good to see you again interesting as always 😎
And thank you for all you do
Enjoyed the walk today. ❤️
Great Adventure 👍🏼
Thanks Mandy. One of the more enjoyable treks I did last year. 🙂
Terrific location. Great choice. Love the running water enclosed by those stone walls - reveals an unusual trove of finds, not all of which will be picked. The etched stone looks like it was heavily eroded by machine, or water. Is it a sandstone tool. I should say your videos are the only ones I can happily watch over and over again
I think the glass nobbly thing might be the top to a decanter which might also have been used for a shot glass.
Always look forward to your videos Tom. So relaxing to listen to your voice and join you on whatever journey you're on that day. Love the alliteration and poetic narration. Great first-person filming POV too. A totally different style to my videos but I learn a lot from yours. Thank you!
I enjoy your videos! Your voice is soothing!
Eu sempre espero os seus vídeos maravilhoso esses lugares são realmente lindos agradecida por nós levar com você 😍
Obrigado, fico feliz que goste dos lugares que posso filmar. 🙂
Wow! A Saturday video! What a treat!! Hope you’re keeping well Tom!
Thanks Angela, it's a day earlier than I'd intended because I'm heading off to the seaside tomorrow for a few days. I hope you're keeping well too. 🙂
Like your videos. So relaxing. I have to tell you I like your quiet voice. I am not flirting. Ha ha.
Thanks Elaine, and it's nice of you to clarify, can't always tell with the comments I get.😃
Thanks for another great Lark!
Yay! I really didn't expect another video so soon, but I'm ecstatic to see it. Such a lovely place...and the ducks. Is there a new guitar diddy in this video? Maybe I just don't remember it. Glad to see you feeling up to such a hike. Take good care Tom.
Thanks Annie. I'm a bit earlier than I meant to be, as heading off to the seaside tomorrow for a few days. The next one will only be a mini episode, but the wait will only be till next weekend... then hopefully a full episode again two weeks later. I haven't successfully recorded any new guitar pieces recently, my interface broke, and I haven't bought another yet... so it's probably just one I don't use very often. 🙂
Beautiful video as always!
Always a joy, such a beautiful area, thank you Tom 🙂
Thanks Charlotte, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Hi Tom, you are such a kind person, if only there were more people likr yourself, thanks for taking us along it was a lovely walk. take care happy new year xxxz debbie xxxx
