I can be very critical of my videos. And, I always manage to get at least one dislike on my videos before they even go live 🙂. No video can be enjoyable to everyone, but I'm glad my videos are enjoyable to you.
Thanks Artie, most people think of it as a bit sparse as castles go; no structures remaining intact... but there's so much history tied to that pile of rocks, it was more interesting to me than many intact ones. 🙂
Tom, there are people who's lives are so miserable, that all they can do is try and drag people into the ditch they exist in. I hope you do not change anything about your presentation, I have recommended your channel to a few friends because you give so much of yourself. Love to you my friend!

Thanks Rosia, I'm glad you think so. I think I made a few mistakes with my guesses, but not too many. It was a lovely few days there, and... a great holiday overall. Hoping to visit many more Scottish places in the next few years.🙂
Very interesting Tom thank you 😀. Ive never really liked castles because I find them spooky sad places but you chatting made it feel a very chilled peaceful place to be . Loved the smooth sea glass ❤
Thanks Judy. I've felt that about castles too, this one had a nice gentle feel about it. Even knowing some of the dark history of the place didn't dispel it. 🙂 I found the sea glass in South Queensferry, near Edinburgh, on the beach just below the main old street... just in case you ever head that way and want to find some too.
Rambling, supposition and guesses i live for them🙂 great walk through i really like the brickwork it still amazes me the amount of rock moved to build such a thing. The many uses they came up with and the logistics to keep it running are amazing. Thamks and stay safe.👋✌️
Thanks Tom. Me too, the stonework was wonderful, and it's so impressive the size of it; knowing that none of the rock was there to start with. I'd like to dive in the loch near the island, I think there'd be remnants of the outer Curtain Wall that used to surround it. 🙂

Enjoying your video. Discovered your fascinating video when I looked up The Wolf of Badenoch. Last month I was in Scotland (first time) and back home in the Florida trying to keep cool with it being in the 90s here. I am reading a book by Neil Oliver on The History of Scotland to further my education. I managed to pick up 14 books on Scotland on the trip so much to learn about a beautiful part of the world. There are so many places we didn't get to see though. But we were amazed at the places and things we did see like Stirling castle, Dumferline, Blackness castle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Edinburgh castle, Holyrood, Ft William, Scone palace, Inverness, Urquart, Eilean Donan, the Kelpies, Isle of Skye , the Isle of May to see puffins and other nesting birds. Managed to find 78 bird species while in Scotland. Lovely video. Loved seeing the gorse again, the bird feather, the tiny frogs.....When I saw the rain I thought of our hike to the Fairy Pools and how our shoes took 3 days to dry out. haha. It was spectacular though. We did manage to beat the midges which we had heard so much about. Thanks for posting the video. I hope to get back to Scotland soon.
You talking is honey for the soul, so keep on telling stories. I love Scotland, only been in Edinburgh and Glasgow sofas, but will visit the Highlands one day. Also the walls or the rest what was left looked amazing to me. Thank you for taking me to your holiday trip with this video.

Hello 👋 from New York USA Thank you for Bringing me Along with you to that Amazing Beautiful place I can't wait to see Where you go and What you Find Next 😊
Your voice is so calming. You would be excellent at narrating an audio book. I’m from Tennessee but have Scottish, Irish and English heritage. I love history, architecture, mistaking and geology. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Since I love history, this was a charming detour from your enjoyable mudlarking ventures. Loved how much you explained the history of this stalwart, persevering place. It's amazing how beautifully much of it still is together. Thank you for bringing us along!
Hi Tom, really enjoyed that, thank you . I remember my elderly aunt telling me one of the few things she remembered from Scots History was that the Wolf of Badenoch was forced, after sacking Elgin Catherdral, to do penance at Dunkeld Cathedral “in his shirt and drawers”. This would have been at her Primary School in the 1920s and the class were pretty shocked by their genteel spinster teacher using the word “drawers”. Different days!
