Your voice is soft and soothing and I love hearing you tell us what you are finding. It's a very rainy day here in a north Carolina coast on Saurday before memorial day 2023 . We are having a strong he windy rainy weekend.
Gives me such joy to have a video pop up from you, Tom. I did wonder if that scaffolding plank was kids bridging or damming the river. I have to say, no matter what else you find, there is something endlessly charming about a glass bottle stopper.
Thanks Gill, I hadn't thought of kids as a possibility, but it absolutely is. There's also a small hamlet further upstream that I'd forgotten about, so may have floated down from there. The bottle stoppers I found there were lovely glass, particularly the two mushroom topped ones. 🙂
Thank you Tom. It's 3am in New England USA. Aches and pains keep me uncomfortably awake. I'm grateful for the soothing distraction. Spring 2022 footage? You must have an enormous collection of videos! Take care. Much appreciation for your kind efforts.💜
I’m a bottle digger from the u.s.a, I’ve been watching this channel since I was only twelve and you inspire me so much. Someday I must travel to England to start some mudlarking! The stuff you find is so exciting and historical! Your videos do give an asmr effect, and out of all of the mudlarking youtubers, your videos are the most soothing. You should definitely start an asmr channel, Tom!
That "brass wavy line thing" would make a great underline for a logo with "Tom Burley Mudlark" since it looks like waves! I'd have a field day if I lived near a big spilling dump like that! Lots of nice finds! I love that Ammonia bottle if you plan to pass it on 😉😂 Your channel definitely has the best theme music in my opinion. Not too jarring and suits the tone perfectly!
Sadly, don't think the ammonia bottle was still there when I last visited, but if I ever go again, I'll look out for it. I'm pretty rubbish at logos, I've tried designing them every now and then, for other people, for decades. Never had much success, but never tried to do one for myself; thanks for the suggestion, I may well give it a go. 🙂
@@tom_burleigh This was a brilliant video this week and those brass things depicting grape vines etc are lovely too! If you bent brass things into text and used the waves as an underline, that could work? 😂 I come up with random ideas!
Answering as many questions as I can... Yes, gifting a bottle stopper would be lovely. Someone dreams of finding one. Took me a year❤ Would love to see a series of the new lives for the figurines ❤
Hello dear Tom, you have a very soothing voice, and your easy to listen to when the volume is higher then I want, with you I don't have to turn the volume down, God bless you for that !😌 good to see a video from you again my friend !👩
I like the look of this site. Plenty of surface finds. Easier pickings than in some places. Thank you for taking us along on your mini adventure. Andrew
Hello from the USA. I'm amazed at the quantity of bits and pieces you find along that stream. A brass ring and you didn't even have to go on a merry go-round to win it. That was a fun pick.
It's always interesting to see what our presenters are doing other then what they put up on their channel. Have you considered displaying some of your art work? 🤔🎨🖼
Thank you Tom for another lovely video. I appreciate you telling what each find is, it is informative, and enjoyable. Beautiful site, it will be a great preserve .
Hi Tom, thanks for the info on the Slingers bottle, I could find nothing. Of course I love anything related to my village lol. I love the Queens coronation pin, an amazing find! I'm glad the land is being given over to wildlife but I do hope the remove all the lead first, there is so much of it there. It will be a huge operation! Lovely video 😀💗 x
Another wonderful trek today. That canal area is a great spot to detect and explore the field. Always a great video to watch. Hope you are well and your household are also well. See you on the next Tom. Enjoy the upcoming weekend, and the week ahead! Cheers Tom! ❤😊
Wonderful finds today! As an ardent rock hound, I am fascinated and interested in your local layered slate rocks. Also; as a collector of blue ephemera, especially blue-green, turquoisy blues, I am palpably frustrated at not being able to pick them up myself!
I agree, it's not a perfect option, and I absolutely do not wish to block people out. That's a big part of why I haven't done a Patreon page yet. On the other side of things though, by not doing one, I'm potentially blocking myself from ever earning a living from video making. I haven't taken a wage yet for thousands of hours of work; putting all the income from it back into future video ingredients. One day I hope, that all this work will pay enough to pay my rent, my living costs, and for future videos.😕
What a great cache of metal finds in this video, Tom! I appreciate your restrained cleaning of these interesting historical bits and bobs! Thank you for continuing to provide such consistently entertaining content! Cheers from NE Florida.
Hej from Denmark Thank you for the walk. I enjoy the nature and the stuff you are finding. I can see a little café table whit our small copper things laid as mosaik. And glass over. As a garden table. 😊😊
I think if I owned all those bottles and bottle stoppers then on some stormy night I'd try to match them up. Being retired, I have the luxury of time. Thank you. Always pleased to see a new video come up. (I watch the older ones, too.)
There's a slight issue with that, the glass ones were often made smaller than the bottle necks, and padded around with a ring made of cork, (which rarely survives). I've found stoppers that fit certain bottles, but they're rarely a genuine match. Vulcanite ones are different, but somehow not as fun to find. I'm glad you can enjoy my older videos too, and thank you so much for your kindness and generosity 🙂
Lovely video Tom as ever ! Tryed watching when you posted yesterday but it was so relaxing with birds , river flowing you talking in your gentle voice it became a struggle then your music started .. I was out for the count 😂. Keep doing what your doing ! Your a tonic x
Very nice outing. You left the Victorian hot water bottle! Someone will visit behind you. Your videos have an asmr quality, that i enjoy. Location is dreamy.
You could make little incense ( cone ) burners out of the clay pipes by turning the pipes upside down with the cone lit inside them. That way some of the smoke would come out of the hole where the stem was. Hope that makes sense . I suggested that to the Northen Mud larkers too. Love to all xx
Hello 👋 from New York USA you Found Some Amazing Finds my Favorite Definitely Was the Little Stoneware mustard jar 🫙 and the Glass Bottle Stoppers Thank you for Bringing me Along with you I can't wait to see What you Find Next 😊
Another relaxing video with beautiful scenery from you Tom ❤ I love seeing you find glass bottle stoppers too, I've found a small collection in the last area I lived and no matter how many I found another one was always welcome (I have about 30 now, lol) ❤😊 my very favourite thing you found was the Thimble; so sad that it didn't survive but it was still amazing to see you find it 🥰 thank you for taking us along with you 😊
Hi Tom you have ignited my interest because I collect little bits and bobs . I’m a bit disabled but I would love to go mud larking with you! You are so interesting! Thank you kindly!
So many interesting finds, I love the token, all the glass bottle stoppers, (mine are all frosted as I find them on the beach) and all those quirky metal finds - a really enjoyable video. I agree the finding is the thing, not the keeping!
I sell at craft fairs and flea markets because I can sell out many items that would just sit otherwise and having cash in a nice big lump sum is very nice. maybe you could sell bottles in groups like 3 for whatever seems fair and your creations so you can fund another adventure.
Hello Mr. Burleigh was nice larking around with you,i loved the beautiful scenery,i have missed you,my phone had broken a while back and i lost a lot of channels i couldnt remember what the names were,so nice to see all the interesting things you were finding again, gotta love that view out your window, be waiting for next video, happy hunting to you, from coast of Texas, usa.
I've missed your videos. I love the piece of Shirley brass and see if could become a lovely bangle bracelet with some polishing .It would be a gorgeous treasure
Hi Tom, At 2:15, when you first put your bag down, in the crevice, it was something golden down there, like a ring. This is of course my perception only, but I am curious. Cheers!
Loved the toy solider Tom and the location looks very relaxing and peaceful 🙌 Just before you mentioned about ASMR, Collette just said before that. “He would be good at doing an ASMR video” Lots of lovely little pieces of brass as well. Snake buckle from the old snake belts, That took me back to the 70s haha. Nice video Tom. Lovely spot 👍
There's something about finding things to repurpose I guess it's keeping the creative mind flowing and the treasure hunter exploring. 16:30 is a umbrella/parasol slide.
Hello , The piece of wood with nails in it. Its made for flax i think. If you want more explanation than let me know. Love your videos. Greetings from the Netherlands 😊
Hooray 🎉🎉Just what I needed today! A calm interlude with Tom Burleigh!
Thanks Nancy, I always enjoy reading your comments. 🙂
I just happened to come across this video,ty your awesome
" i like it and I'll take it!"
Tom, your videos are just getting better and better! Thank you. -Cali

Love your sence of humor, saying something totally ridiculous, in a quite low key serious voice😊
Thank you for another afternoon of your soothing voice and unhurried Mudlark finds. Greetings from the U.S.A.
Thanks Peggy, glad you enjoy them. Greetings from UK. 🙂
Just to walk the streams along with you and look at the view of that lovely farm out your window is so perfectly enjoyable.

Thanks Richard, for the compliment and the idea... I'll have a play with it, and see if I can make it work. 🙂
Always wonderful to tag along on your trips. I enjoy your comments even when they're repetitive. Thanks for doing what you do.
Thanks Bernice, that's kind of you to say.🙂
Thank you Tom for another great lark. I so look forward to your outings and the interesting miscellaneous oddities that you uncover along the way. 🥰
It’s midnight and I’m still awake working on craft projects and happy to be joining you on your trip. I hope you are keeping well Tom and thank you 🙂
Window latch and pulley, my first thought and wild guess was sash windows fittings🙂
Good “seeing” you again Tom! I’m always happy to see a new video!
Thanks Jeanie, I'm always glad if they make people happy. 🙂
This area was beautiful. The bottle stoppers are so pretty. Thank you for an enjoyable walk
Bottle stoppers would be a great giveaway idea yes. They’re small, tactile and easily packaged up for ease of transportation.
Thanks Emily, I haven't got a giveaway planned yet, but I'll include some nice bottlestoppers. 🙂
so many lovely finds...thank you for the peaceful outing.
Lovely video Tom, anytime I can here you voice and running water, my stress seams to melt away.
Thanks Debbie, always glad that my videos can have that effect. 🙂

Answering as many questions as I can...

Hello dear Tom, you have a very soothing voice, and your easy to listen to when the volume is higher then I want, with you I don't have to turn the volume down, God bless you for that !😌 good to see a video from you again my friend !👩
Small metal finds are the best!! Great vid Tom 👏
I agree, love a good metal patch and the things I finds in them.🙂 Hope you're doing well, not too stressed by school
Lovely to come inside from potting up plants and have your video pop up to relax with.👍
Thanks JJ, I hope your plants (and you) thrive this year. 🙂
I like the look of this site. Plenty of surface finds. Easier pickings than in some places. Thank you for taking us along on your mini adventure. Andrew

I think that first piece of wood with all the holes may have been the head of a push-broom. It is always a pleasure to come along. Thanks.
Love all the ideas, just enjoy your videos so as long as you keep making them I'll be watching them❤
I love the sound of your voice. It is calming and I love your videos. Thank you for posting it’s been awhile.
Good evening Tom
I hope you’re well my friend 😊
Good evening Emily, I'm reasonably well thanks, hope you are too. 🙂

I love this channel. I stumbled upon it while watching mudlarking. His voice is soo calm and soothing.
Poor unfortunates made me laugh ; inks are my favourites and thats my next video ; a bit chucked together but editing or beach . Beach wins today.
I'll buy the bottle stoppers from you, and any tiny bottles you don't need. Great day for you. Thankyou, Tom.
What a great cache of metal finds in this video, Tom! I appreciate your restrained cleaning of these interesting historical bits and bobs! Thank you for continuing to provide such consistently entertaining content! Cheers from NE Florida.
Yes I would love a video of you crafting with your treasures. Bracelets and necklaces from your metals
Hej from Denmark

Your voice stays relatively calm, but your hands show the excitement as you find find more and more..and then the voice speeds up. 😊😊
Augmentation video would be fun to watch, yes, yes!! You have such a lovely view, WOW!
Thanks, I'll get the box of figurines out for some augmentations soon 🙂

Thanks Walt, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully I'll get round to editing all the videos I shot last year (and shoot many more this year). 🙂
Cool. If you found the bottles, you can give your friends have some that they can study the history and can use for projects. 🙂

“That thing” that you find a lot of is from either an umbrella or parasol. As a detecorist I too find a lot of them!
Ah, yes... thank you! I thought I had a glimmer of recognition about them, but couldn't place them. 🙂
Beautiful adventure on a lovely day!! 🦘

I've never seen a bottle stopper that deep blue it's gorgeous
Tom,
I enjoy "The Bleak MIdwinter",
but Spring and pre summer Yorkshire are a joy to behold!
Cheers,
Rik Spector
I was instantly fascinated by that pipe bowl with the fake Dublin adress.
I had no idea that this type of bowl would be acceptable back in those days!
Thank you, Tom. Your videos are amazing and always missed in the interim.
Hi Tom you have ignited my interest because I collect little bits and bobs . I’m a bit disabled but I would love to go mud larking with you! You are so interesting! Thank you kindly!
It's so nice and quiet where you live. ☺️ And your videos are interesting and relaxing. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us 👍🏼❤️.
Your videos bring calm. I love them. Thank you.

Delightful video with for me, some lovely finds. Best of all....your voice, its so calm and reassuring, thank you! June, Coventry UK.
Another amazing calming video. Take care and thank you for sharing 👍🙏❤️
Oh joy of joys , a dig with Tom 🙏
Your voice is wonderful 😊🎉so many treasures
That blue bottle stopper on this lark is absolutely gorgeous, Tom! I’ve not seen a one quite like it on any mudlarking video.
For some reason I'm reminded of Liam Neeson when you speak.
Ah, yes. I love the "secretive vs reclusive" comment. I can relate, too.
"Oh one of these..." - the device that connected umbrella ribs and slid on the shaft
Thanks for the ID, much appreciated. 🙂
My first time to this channel. Very interesting. Thank you for the walk.

so nice tonight (saturday 27 may) to find this video from you. Made my evening!
I'd love to be in the UK again, mudlarking. Old dumpsites are so fun to look through but even better near the water! :) thanks
There's something about finding things to repurpose I guess it's keeping the creative mind flowing and the treasure hunter exploring. 16:30 is a umbrella/parasol slide.
Hello ,
The piece of wood with nails in it.
Its made for flax i think.
If you want more explanation than let me know.
Love your videos.
Greetings from the Netherlands 😊
