Very enjoyable video and as for those little bits of scrap metal. well apart from the fact they should not be in the river some of those bits could easily turn out to be of Historical significance. And the of course what is just scrap can be financially benefitted from when collected in sufficient amounts.
💚 your video's are so relaxing, we appreciate all the work that goes into creating a video! I watch many mudlarking channels, you are all so kind to share your finds with others, the larking community has been my solace for the past years. peace & luv to all💯
I hope you do meet up with Nikola White again, you're my two favorite mudlarkers. I was extra grateful for your video today, I've been very sick with covid (first time, it finally got me) for weeks, and I needed the smile. Cheers.
How beautiful the view from your window! I love the blue sky and the greenery. Just missing the sheep. But very relaxing all the same. Thanks for the mudlark.
Just turned my almost 40 year old son on to your videos….first thing he said “ he has a remarkable voice” and I agree. Your video was a much needed balm after a dental visit today. Thank you
wow the river is clear. your film was very enjoyable, l love seeing your finds. On a difficult day l was so cheered , hearing and seeing the views. thank you.
Really enjoyed this lark, the rock skipping was great .Your videos are so relaxing to watch , rushing water is always a great sound and visual effect. Nice finds for projects , so glad to see you out . Thanks for sharing , always a peaceful time to relax and enjoy. Have a good spring and Summer. 🤗🌻🪴
This was a great adventure today with you the beautiful combination of rushing water and sunshine with your voice very soothing! A great haul gorgeous brooch and blue bottle so much other things to enjoy 😊
Hi Tom. Great to see this video and remember the great water lark we had. I’m just about to go through the Eurotunnel on my way back to Holland, so I will watch this under the sea!! How apt! I was home for a while but no time for larking. Hope you are well and catch up with you perhaps the next time I’m over?
My happy place! Thanks for this Tom, I haven't been able to go there for a long time so this video has really cheered me up. It's great to see James, that's a nice flagon he found. Looking forward to seeing you out with K&C 😀💗 x
I love the running water, so soothing! The buckets with clear bottoms are a great idea, I certainly didn’t mind your use of one while filming. So many metal finds, good for you!
Thanks Hazel. Hopefully though I can find a way of filming with the bucket a bit better.... not next time *(that's already filmed), but from then on. 🙂
I agree about the interest in your finds. When metal detecting I am always happy to find random, seemingly useless bits, they can evoque memories or just amuse me.
Good to see you Tom,really enjoyed the rock skipping it brought back memories of two good friends from my childhood whom i havent thought of in years. We used to skip those things for hours it actually became a game with us to see who could find the best skipper then prove it.Those we great days. Thanks again for brightening up my day🤩🙂😊✌️
Thanks Tom, I think there's something like that in my childhood too, though my memories are vague (aphantasia, comes with some quirks). I had a game with myself for a while, trying to skip the most unlikely stones 🙂. I think it improved my skipping overall, and I've managed to skip some very unwieldy shaped stones.
Great to see you and your video as always, Tom. Your larks are some of the most authentic out there ….they are filled with treasure, from the walks, to the narration, to the finds. 🥰🌼
Great video Tom 👌 and Wow that river has changed so much. I watched all of your videos from this river and find it amazing how nature acts. Oh and that poor tree, still seems to just be hanging half in the air and half in the bank of the river😮 such cool finds as well ❤ thanks for taking us along with you 😊
what a lovely wade. the camera lens is wonderful. I have several old cameras & miss the days of waiting with great anticipation for my photo prints after putting my film in for developing. thanx for sharing.
Another great soothing and calming video. The creek is a great location to check out. Many nice finds today. See you on the next, Tom. Enjoy the week ahead. Cheers mate! 😊
That was a very interesting spot. I laughed out loud when you pondered having extra hands or arms 😂. It's lovely to see Spring coming to the view from your window.
What a beautiful lark! Love the camera lens. ❤ And it's great to see James. I love all of his videos. He's a master in upcycling blue and white pottery.
Again, this was a very nice wander through the river. I see that you are fairly selective, plus all the lead and other metals. That odd object wouldn't have been a brake shoe - too soft, but it's large. I like the comprehensive look at the landscape. I'll post some river photos on my Facebook page so you can see what stage we are at. It is the time of the opening up of the river, and that's always exciting to see the flow reveal itself
Tom, I'm not a Cephalopod, I'm an Octogenarian:) Corpus plumbus locomotus,eh? I remember commenting on that tree when the river was in full flow and somehow it has survived. It has seized the day, at least for now. Thank you for getting back to me, via Kofi, I always enjoy your comments when you are able to reply. I hope Spring springs eternal for you Cheers, Rik Spector
I love the black half ball. Carpet Ball maybe? The black ball reminded me of what our earth would look like if we were outside of the protective Fermament that covers our flat earth. The little white spots on the ball could be the millions of stars in the black night of the Fermament. Beautiful thought.
Tom, with rivers and streams such as this, one’s soul quietly nudges one to don the waders and go for a stream walk/lark. You picked a beautiful day and location for this outing. I (Ian) felt for that row of trees precariously perched along the edge of that eroded river bank, a limited future I think. Your stone skimming certainly roused that kingfisher, a great throw.
Just found your channel, what I do is watch your clip then if I've had a stressful day I lie down and listen to it ,it's so de stressing and calm . superb 💯💯
Thanks so much Bryan. I'm glad I haven't kept people waiting this week... it was looking a bit unlikely to get finished midweek, but then I managed to concentrate, and buckle down to editing. 🙂
Thanks Tom, I am always happy to watch one of your videos. Loved the sound of the water and your voice (of course), interesting finds and as far as the bucket and filming, could you clip the camera to the inside of the rim? I hope this finds you well and I look forward to your next upload.
Thanks Debbie, that's a suggestion I'll try. I'm going to try a few things, including sticking my phone to the acrylic, and looking through half of it. I hope you're well too, and you have a lovely week. 🙂
I am pre-occupied wuth something else just at the moment, so i dropped in half an hour ago - We in Canada were there two weeks ago - it's weird at first - then come the beautiful looooong evenings
Yes, I'm looking forward to being able to stay out filming later and later, sometimes visiting three sites in a day. Winter, I struggle to film one in a month.
He's filmed quite a few, but alas, hasn't had much time for editing, with work and family commitments. I hope he gets to it sometime, I enjoy his videos. 🙂
There’s a you tube channel named Outdoors Weekly. They use hands free chest harnesses for their go pros. I think one would be perfect fir stream walking with the bucket.
I have a idea why not make a bucket about only a foot deep with a glass or plexy glass bottom and attach the camera on the inside of the bucket looking down, perhaps use the go-pro there since it's smaller? I wonder how those small security cameras would work, the tiny ones, perhaps using LED lights on the bottom of the bucket as well, attaching the battery on the inside of the bucket. just a few random thoughts. It's good to see you and a friend out and about. :)
The camera, maybe from a box brownie. My grand dad had one, he worked as as gernalist back in the day..he knew morse code and took loads of photos. This runs in our family, my uncle also keen photographer, my sister and I did it as part of our course in Southampton and my daughter dose it as part of her job.
This one has the ragged remains of a concertina too... which I think rules out a box brownie, the lens is about 30% wider than the one on my Dad's box brownie too. Think that one was my granddad's too, he was a RAF aerial photographer during the war, and a keen travel photographer after.
Have you tried the chest harness, that holds your go pro under your chin on your chest? It most likely would record into the bucket and your hands are mostly held in the position of where the camera is mounted.
You could get one of those cameras that go on your head or chest, and therefor your hands are free. Don't know what make or what they are called..but you get my drift..very interesting as usual.
Ah, your sense of humor! Wonderful! Very relaxing video before I have my last nap for work tonight. Suggestion for not seeing your face in glass bottom bucket, a brimmed hat might put your face in enough shadow.
It's iron oxide. The dumpsite is about 30ft thick, and there's a lot of old iron in it; as well as copper, brass lead, and even a little silver and gold. 🙂
@Tom Burleigh Not in my opinion, Tom. I am always so pleased when I see a notification that you have posted a video! I love your voice, the guitar track you chose to compliment the beautiful footage and how it makes my weekend so peaceful! You keep posting and I will always be more than happy to enjoy it.
"I like it and I'll take it!" Love it!
Thanks Calia. Don't think I'll go in for slogans on any T-shirt's I do, but that'd be one if I did.🙂
@@tom_burleigh it really would be a great tee shirt....huh? Maybe, just maybe.......
Spring here in New England. Thank you for a glimpse of Old England.
Very enjoyable video and as for those little bits of scrap metal. well apart from the fact they should not be in the river some of those bits could easily turn out to be of Historical significance. And the of course what is just scrap can be financially benefitted from when collected in sufficient amounts.

Thank you Tom…I love listening to your soothing eloquent voice….love from Calgary Canada 🇨🇦
Oh the thumbnail looks very promising :) Looking forward to watching Tom!
Thanks Craig and Nicole, I hope you enjoy it. 🙂
I hope you do meet up with Nikola White again, you're my two favorite mudlarkers.
I was extra grateful for your video today, I've been very sick with covid (first time, it finally got me) for weeks, and I needed the smile. Cheers.
Thank you Tom wonderfully scenes.
How beautiful the view from your window! I love the blue sky and the greenery. Just missing the sheep. But very relaxing all the same. Thanks for the mudlark.
The sheep are in the sheds right now, giving birth. The fields will soon be full of joyfully bouncing, prancing lambs. 🙂
That was quite a successful adventure. Have a lovely day :)
Just turned my almost 40 year old son on to your videos….first thing he said “ he has a remarkable voice” and I agree. Your video was a much needed balm after a dental visit today. Thank you
Oh wow - the camera piece is amazing! What a find Tom - so pleased for you.
This was a nice video. I always hope for lead toys that are a little more complete, but it's always fun to watch when you find them. 🥰🐕🇺🇸
It looks like a fun lark! I'm glad you got to enjoy that day with a friend!
The stone skipping and king fisher were my favorite part! Thank you!!!
wow the river is clear. your film was very enjoyable, l love seeing your finds. On a difficult day l was so cheered , hearing and seeing the views. thank you.

Enjoyed that one very much, Tom, the water was so clear.
Thanks Christine, it's a rarity that it's that clear, I was very glad to be able to film it. 🙂
I love blue glass too. The river sounds were mesmerizing. Thanks
I’m binge watching trying to catch up. Thank you for a relaxing evening.
Great ❤it! Music 😊just perfect and somehow soothing with the water.
I was so tickled to see a new video from you Tom! Enjoyed it very much! Thank you!!!
Great Sunday night viewing. Thanks for another interesting and enjoyable video.
Thanks *(I'm sorry, I've forgotten your name, I remember you told me). I'm very glad you enjoyed it.
Such beautiful country side ❤👍♥️🗝️
Yes, I'm very fortunate to live in easy driving distance of such places. 🙂
Beautiful blue glass. I love it.
Always a fun and interesting time! Thanks again!
Love that camera piece. It’s a treasure to me, too!
Wow, the water is so low. I definitely vote for a wetsuit and snorkel to explore that shelf 😉 Some lovely finds as usual
Good to see you back out on the river and finding neat and interesting things. As well as seeing James again.
My happy place! Thanks for this Tom, I haven't been able to go there for a long time so this video has really cheered me up. It's great to see James, that's a nice flagon he found. Looking forward to seeing you out with K&C 😀💗 x

What a lot you got Tom ! Another great video ! Thank you !

@@tom_burleigh I really did! So many great finds!

That looks like so much fun.
Very much so. Less so trying to film at the same time, but it was still a great day. 🙂
I remember, years ago now, when I could present a good skipping stone I'd found, to one of the lads & see their eyes light up!

Great video. I certainly pick up all the lead scraps I find. Bought me a brand new greenhouse with it. MB.
You really should try the wet suit and snorkel! That would be a very unique film!

Perhaps a magnet on the end of a stick for the ferrous items?

Try a magnet on a stick to get at some of the stuff under that clay shelf. They aren't very expensive.
But most of the things I want down there are non-ferrous. Gold, silver, copper, brass 🙂
The camera, maybe from a box brownie. My grand dad had one, he worked as as gernalist back in the day..he knew morse code and took loads of photos. This runs in our family, my uncle also keen photographer, my sister and I did it as part of our course in Southampton and my daughter dose it as part of her job.

A lovely river walk! So are you a mud scrapper or maybe a scrap larker...
Could you attach a 12 inch clear glass plate to bucket or trash basket? You could attach go pro to the plate on inside of bucket to film.

Missing your voice so I'm watching old videos again. Maybe a new one coming soon?
What's that orange washing out from the bank? Also, lots of finds, amazes me that so much stuff is just laying about.
It's iron oxide. The dumpsite is about 30ft thick, and there's a lot of old iron in it; as well as copper, brass lead, and even a little silver and gold. 🙂
Tom, I wondered if the half ball could be half of a carpet ball?
Of course this video was great!! It was from you! 😊
Thanks Barbara, that's a very generous opinion. I'm sure I'm capable of less than great videos. 🙂
