- The only fix is to replace the entire shifter module assembly cost is $590 for the part from dealer easy repair to do on your own you need trim tools 10mm deep socket with long extension there is 4 nuts holding it in and disconnect all necessary electrical connectors and disconnect shifter cable
This just happened to my Jeep. The total cost was $1100 to replace part and labor fees. For anyone who’s wondering
F*ck!
This was very helpful in the middle of the night to turn my car off. I had to use the screw driver to reach it. Thank you
Thanks for this video. Having the same issue on a 2015 that started last night.
Dang bro. Thanks for the video was very helpful.
Hey bud good find, I just had a customer bring in their Cherokee with the same problem. Lol I found the same blue switch to push. Had to order the part obviously, so in the interim I added a toggle to shut it off. Seems to be prevalent in the Cherokees now.
Hi did you instal a toggle
Where did you order this part? Same issue is currently happening with me
Also, What’s the name of the part? Thanks!
I’m having this issue and I have a jeep Cherokee 2020😓
Never getting a jeep too many issues
Hey,... I'm having this problem with my 2015 Chrysler 300c... It has the rotary nob... I've replaced shifter and fuses, problem remains. Any helpful tips?
Alexander I have 2018 grand Cherokee 62k miles and this just happened to me Thanksgiving afternoon. How do I get shift off to get to the button.
Excelente video mi ayudo a resolver el mismo problema mil gracias.
Well done! Ty
Thank you😊
Man I’m in the situation 🤦🏾♂️ Should I take it back to the dealer? How much is the fix?
Hello thank you so much for the video my 2019 keep compass shuts off but all electrical remains on such as light and dash board indicates vehicle not in P mode now it has a message (A!) well I will try it out hope it fixes my issue
In this situation right now with my 2022 jeep wrangler. How did you fix yours?
in other video with exactly the same issue they resolved it changing the transmission harness, so i have the same problem today im going to try all of this...
Tengo una 2013 y me dice “vehicule not in park y no quiere prender, le puse batería nueva y alternador nuevo y nada.
I dropped my car off at the shop and now they say she wont shut off- how does this happen? Because she was working fine beforehand.
Having the same problem
Thanks !! had a customer hook his aux battery up backwards / not in park message ( data in all other modules shows park position) no crank / ignition will not turn off after pushed to run/ shifter will not come out of park / must disconnect aux battery to shut ign run down.... information in data base is vague update if This solves one or more issues. ( of course no DTC's are current )
Did you solve It?
My 2015 grand Cherokee have exact issue but the gear are not the same. I tried to check for that blue switch you displayed but can’t find it. The gear system on my 15 is different from the one you’re demonstrating on
Completely different design not even close
Very informative video, the image is crystal clear and the narration is great and easy to follow. To remedy the fault you replaced all the module which house the switch. Is this the only way to fix this fault? is there is a less expensive solution to fix this problem?
Unfortunately no you have to go ahead and bite the bullet and pay for the whole shifter assembly
@@alexanderardelean5001 Thanks a lot for the response
😣😭
I have a 2016 I can't find the blue switch. 😫
My car right now
Mine says that and doesn't want to turn on.
Hope I can do this on a charger
I think this is a Chrysler thing I'm having this issue with my charger
My shit is stuck like this
Having the same issue with mine but won’t start cause thinks it’s not in park
You have to press on the tab and press the start button at the same time as I explain in the video
@@alexanderardelean5001 see I looked mine is a grand Cherokee srt and doesn’t have any green button trust me I’ve looked 3 times
What’s the part called
Electronic shift module
@@alexanderardelean5001 any kind of fix I can do bending of a piece or doing something… dealer wants $650 plus $200 labor to fix it for one simple button
LOL the only fix is to replace an entire unit,,, Jeeps suck,,, People should stop buying them,,, Very common, my sons has 25k miles and the switch failed
Youre moving wayyyyy to much in this video smh
