- Just a three minute closeup of one of my favorite .22s, the Henry Small carbine. Gotta love these lever action Henry’s!

I have this gun in a youth model.
It makes the handiest lil carbine.
This is what I did...
First I put sling swivels on... A rifle without a sling is like a pistol without a holster
Next I leather wrapped the lever...So comfortable... big difference
Went with that for a while
Then a little later I ordered the saddle ring receiver cover
Now It looks as sweet as it shoots
I put a strip of leather on the ring so I can stop the ring from slamming against the receiver
as I walk I can hang on to strip of leather and with my lever hand

Thanks Rob! I like this one a bit better than the Marlin 39A, but I will freely admit the 39A is better made. I really like that Skinner peep site on the Henry. One of these years I'll try to pick up a 39A in better condition than the old beater. :)

Get you one! They are a bit hard to find right now but they are out there :)
I have the classic Henry 001 love it--my eyes have seen better days so added a Simmons .22 Mag 4x32mm scope. Quarter size group at 50 yards. Federal Auto-Match 1200fps 40grain lead bullet 325 bulk box. Henry and 2 black Ruger Wranglers can"t get any better than this. :-)

Does anyone know on the .22 mag version if you can put .22 long or short?
Hi Tommy...in short, you can't. The .22 Mag version won't shoot standard .22s as the 22 WMR cartridge has a slightly bigger case diameter and headspacing.
