  • I hand shear all of my Suri alpacas and wasn't planning to do any shearing videos this year- but as I started shearing Weston, I just had to capture how beautiful his fleece was coming off and how absolutely calm and amazing this little guy was for his very first shearing ever! I only had my phone and was shearing by myself today, so the video isn't the best, but hope you can enjoy and see what a FUN good shearing looks like!
I was just sitting on a 5 gallon bucket and letting the fleece fall into my lap! Little Weston was actually the most skitish baby out of the group so I really wasn't sure what to expect from him. Super surprised and thrilled.
This one isn't a good demo on how to hand shear Suri alpacas- I have more of those and a step by step kind on my channel. Look for the one with Tiffany (she's a cute white alpaca! ahhahaha, sorry, not a good clue!)
Anyway- if all of my alpacas could be like him, that would be a dream! But- I do have some with more attitude and personalities!!!! Still- it's all good and I love spending time with them and hand shearing my kiddos.
    Have an amazing day! www.WisteriaSuriRanch.com

so is the rump (hip)considered prime too?

Hi Atheena!!! It depends but on a baby, the rump area especially towards the center as you go down the top of the leg is usually similar in quality and length to the prime area. You'll need to skirt out near the tail and belly but some of it is absolutely gorgeous just like the prime area. Thanks for watching!!
