Gonna have to get over it because the poopy nappies never stop . And the bottle feeding seems like it's never ending.

Well that was interesting. I get that sense of connection through music. As an audience member for many decades, there is a Oneness we feel when we listen. There is a deeper sense of Oneness or maybe a broader sense when we sing or play, on our own. But when I sing or play with someone else, there is a connection to the ether but also one another that is so fluid and magical. I never knew about it till I sang and followed another musician. And yes, we all have the ability to make music and sing. I am grateful I met a music teacher several years ago that had that philosophy. He was in the US and I in Canada so our meetings ended when the border closed for so long. I miss making music together. I am also grateful that I met a painter who helped me believe that anyone can paint. I’ve had pieces in many art shows now, because I believed him.
I don’t know what to say about becoming a Dad except congratulations. I’m not blessed with the experience of being a parent but from what I have seen it does change people. I believe you are equipped with the awareness and presence to dance with this, most beautifully.
Thanks for this. It’s one way, and through a digital medium but my spiritual teacher had (maybe still has) the view that there is magic in the ability to connect so much more widely through the internet. It has potential to be good magic or dark magic. Thanks for filling it with positive vibrations.
You are in for some profound change. You will be a wonderful parent. Welcome to the world, new one! 💖

Your life is going to change for the better! When you hold your child the first time, I believe men (especially) go through a chemical change. After that your life goal is no longer about selfish thinhgs and turns into how to make your kids lives great! Congrats!!

Very thoughtful and genuine video. But don’t say that we are always dying every moment, rather say that we are being created every moment. Focusing on death anticipates that everything has its time (at which it expires) but focusing on the creation graciously acknowledges the merit of being bestowed life.

What shakes me out of a rut is jazz. There's always a new puzzle to figure out... Robbie Barnby is incredibly good. Congrats on the book, and the kid!

The self-death is real, I struggled a lot with that as well and in some ways still do. Eventually though, there's a rebirth of yourself too, but you have this new life companion with you to experience things with. Prepare to re-experience things through the eyes of your child and witness the wonder that is the world around us.

Congrats but seriously get over it/yourself. I was a single mother since my daughter was 6 weeks old and solely had the responsibility to take care of her and bring her up to be the best person she could possible (not to mention your not the one carrying the baby for nine months with the body changing, hormones I could keep going) Fwd 7 years later I couldnt ask for a better daighter. I worry for your daughter growing up and reading the caption on your post and how she would feel about that. Yes it is a huge change but that firat second you see that little face and hold them for the first time everything else melts away and they just are your meaning to life. I find you really dont have the best way of expressing your thoughts and feelings in an appropriate way srorry. A part of you is not dieing just growing into a better self.

same way one is connected to anything else, and same actions, or non-actions, one takes any moment of their life.
