  • David Bowie was… an alligator…a mama-papa comin’ for you…a space invader…David Bowie was the ultimate rock ‘n roll bitch…for you. In one of his most over-the-top, yet weirdly candid songs, Bowie told you everything that you needed to know about who he was in this fan-favorite from the album The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars. No wonder Brett Morgen chose “Moonage Daydream” for the title of his documentary film about Bowie, an artist as kaleidoscopic and fantastic as there ever was…on earth or anywhere else. Keep your electric eye on Bowie in the 100th episode of the Behind The Song podcast.

Bowie learned the " cut up method " from reading that William Burroughs did it.

I just found your channel and I'm loving it. I love all these songs and appreciate the stories you tell about them.
I came to know this song through a cover version of it by band Brazzaville. I would highly recommend checking it as well as their early catalog. Their music puts me on q cloud. It's what I imagine heroin feels like.
    But thank you.

Thank you. Regarding original music, it is cost-prohibitive to include originals because of the publishers. Luckily we have a talented producer for our sound design. Thanks for watching!
