This is a fine body style. My grandfather owned a good few Cadillacs...but for family reasons, he needed 4-door models.

    …hey-ya, Mike…
…what a rare beauty you have featured…this ‘47 Series 62 Club Coupe in classic black represented the final year of the pre-war Cadillac body styles and power plants…
…this 5-passenger premium luxury car represented the last word in distinguished motoring in its day…
…you noted that the backseat was “large…it, and this beautiful and impressive fastback coupe was that…and then some…at 19 feet 4 inches in overall length, it would not have even fit into the smallish garages of the day, which could barely fit the Fords and Plymouths of the day which were nearly 2 feet shorter…and the 3 rear seat passengers got a then-unheard of 33 inches of legroom…
…power was provided by a 347cid/5.7 mono block V8, and fitted with either a 3-speed manual, or the GM 4-speed HyraMatic…
…long the mainstay for Cadillac, 39,834 were produced, accounting for 84% of total Cadillacs sold…
…though the collector world is obsessed with the ‘49’s, with their restyling and Kettering V8’s ( my first car was a true barn find ‘49 Series 62 Sedan)…these of the previous generation are truly impressive…
…thanks for sharing your “find”, Mike…may we see more, please?
    …cheers to a fellow “car guy”…👀👍🏽😻🥇💵🆒😎

Thanks for the info. I didn't remember if 47,48 or 49 was the first year for Cadillac's overhead valve v8 and since I didn't have access to the engine I didn't want to guess. I'm starting to forget the little things. The big things will soon follow I guess. Thanks for watching.

Beautiful. So aerodynamic, it almost seems to be pulled forward. Those wheel covers are sombreros.

Wow what a Gem this Cadillac is! I was surprised it has an automatic trans for a 47.

I hear ya Stan especially the ones with the "Country Club" trim but I think GM did a good job on all of them. I'd be happy with any one of them. Thanks for watching.
