    I usually cringe when I see a new fangled power plant in a classic car, but that engine looks right at home in that Caddy😎👍🇺🇸

      I’m always impressed when someone puts a new engine in an old car. That’s a lot of work. More HP and dependability. Makes it easier to drive it more.

    • @PAUL_K
      @PAUL_K 3 года назад +1

      Vortec 8100 is an industrial big block. With its tall deck weight like a boat anchor. It'll hammer down your Buick's front and the whole car will be chasing it. Sharp turns, banking wouldn't give you a great deal. You'd be better of with LS 6.0 or all aluminum 6.2 from them 2007-2014 Escalade. These LSs is almost everywhere. 8100 is harder to find and keep in mind the weight of it. LS is a small block and also packing more power that 8100.

    BIG MISTAKE FROM THE BUILDER AND CLASSIC CARS. IN 1949 THE CADILLAC DIV ALONG WITH OLDSMOBILE INTRODUCED THE OVH V8 AND THE FLATHEAD WAS GONE.THE NEW ENGINE WAS A JOHN KETTERING DESIGN. IT HAD 331.CU IN DISPLACEMENT AND 160 HP. THIS IS WHEN THE OHV V8 RACE BEGAN BY ALL THE CORP. TO COMPETE . CHRYSLER IN 1951 WITH ITS ELEGANT HEMI AND LINCOLN IN 1952.

    It's beautiful and I love that he treats it as a car and not a fragile sculpture. That's the way I build a car. If it ain't everyday driveable and useable then it ain't in my driveway. Why have a piece of sculpture you spend a fortune on and not be able to use it? That's just plain stupid! This car is what I want to see. Cars that are built well and pretty but totally useable.

    I'll never understand why classic car owners spend a great deal of time and money to keep a car original but insist on a modern digital stereo (or shiny wheels). There are surely better ways to do this, no?

  • @billmagorian490

    You did ask questions on this beautiful 49 Cadillac but as usual you spend too much time gushing over the cars you feature. I would really like to hear as much about the car as possible from the owner if need be prompted by concise questions from you. That cant happen if you spend so much time sucking up.

      I don't think you understand how difficult it is to get regular people comfortable with having a TV camera pointed at them. And these shows have to appeal to the general population, not just the hard core car enthusiast. That's how it's managed to survived for 25 years as a top rated show on national TV. But what do I know? 🙄
