Yes, the time and incredible number of games he's played since then would have fogged up his memory, but he could also just react as things come back to him as he remembers or laugh about how he forgot that Pierre's has a cult temple. A lot of the time he's acting like he's seen it for the first time, though with Abigail he's implying he remembers from before. Not trying to bash him, but it's just a little weird
