It's why Beast!Dazai makes so many decisions and trades that canon!Dazai wouldn't: He onky has fractured and incomplete information. He knows of Atsushi, his ability and his place as Dazai's mentee, for example, but nothing other than these loose concepts. Same thing with everyone else. So yeah, Dazai and Beast!Dazai are not as all-knowing as the fandom makes them out to be. As for how the Dazais received the information. That oart is a bit tricky, since canon Dazai never touched the book and if he had, wouldn't have been able to use it thanks to his ability, but there are some theories
