Atsushi is one of those characters where the fandom throws trauma headcanons at him like partially cooked pasta noodles to see what sticks and honestly I love that
To be fair he’s one of the few fictional characters that has a more realistic portrayal of ptsd, some people call it annoying but I think it’s nice to actually have a portrayal of someone who can’t “just move forward” from their trauma

you're absolutely right though. I honestly feel like what Atsushi went through is not something you can just "move past." Trauma is real, and I personally dislike when it's disregarded completely.
god everytime i see the nail scene i get mad how could the anime just ignore entire pages of the headmaster literally telling Atsushi to hammer a nail into his foot and turn it into a 2 second scene you hardly even notice..
i heard somewhere that the animators were too disgusted to animate it?
@@murata.. that’s right. The animators were too grossed out and it was so horrifying that the VAs couldn’t properly express the pain, so they gave it up.

Well to be honest I only watched BSD anime and I don't read manga, as I've heard there's more to Chuuyas backstory and everything in the manga so I probably won't be able to make it until that is animated cuz then the video might be boring 😃
