Pat a High Horse(CPL version) is great to use against western boxers, I have done it successfully on the regular. The level of application Dan is showing here is appropriate for RUclips. CPL formulated this this arrangement at a time of great conflict in China and he served honorably in the military and saw action, he placed much more serious combative applications in the 99 that I wouldn’t show on RUclips, and I don’t blame Dan either. Dan needs to open his lower back and hollow his chest, but he is an old guy like me. How many “fights” have you been in?
@@DanDjurdjevicplus when I was young my back was as subtle as a willow whip, now I have to stretch and warmup quite a bit, I love your posts on the 99, I think you are prudent in the applications you show the public, you have always been an inspiration to my practice all the way on the other side of the world in Virginia, God bless brother.
I love the philosophy behind the martial arts, but the title of this video is a bit weird. This could only work against people who fall into their punches or have no idea what they are doing in an attack. Real world? We saw a lot of real world taichi videos...
I’m afraid that in this day and age, the thumbnail determines whether someone clicks or not. I was referring to Taiji applied faster, not at extremely slowly. As for “people who… have no idea” etc., I engaged in hard contact martial arts for decades and I am satisfied that these techniques are very useful. I show them being tested against a student who (at the time that part was filmed) had recently competed in (and won) full contact fights for their weight division. In my view, these techniques aren’t seen or used widely because they need a lot of practice and understanding - something absent in most modern combat systems and indeed most “real world tai chi videos” (because they rely on mystical “chi” and pushing contests at best).
Well my teacher always said that real fighting does not always rely on form. However all of a sudden you see an opening and one of those tai chi moves becomes live
@@DanDjurdjevicplus I have always appreciated that you demonstrate technique with young strong men that you have obviously trained well, and that they are asked to provide honest attacks for your demonstrations, you are a true martial artist and a gentleman, and I am grateful for your research and the content you provide. People don’t understand that it is not “theoretical” with is, and they don’t know what real combatives are, but that is ok, because people like that don’t need to know. If I lived near you, I would have studied with you. God bless and thanks,

Well said.

Thank you. You are correct that I choose not to show some of the applications. I have deleted many from footage taken from class.

Yes indeed. Thanks for your input.
