That is wrong it should be at 10 degrees btdc on compression stroke and the rotor pointing just to the left of the right upper intake bolt. But thanks for taking your time on your process how you did it
You mentioned after installing the distributor you had to turn the key a couple of times to prime the fuel lines, does this mean we have to disconnect the fuel lines when installing a new distributor?
Aren’t you supposed to drop the distributor at so the rotor points to cyl 1 in the firing order. That terminal is number one wire to the number one cyl and so on thrue the firing order feeding the distributor wires in a circle but to advance it the twenty or what ever degrees you need turn the distributor as the motor runs and use a timing light to dial in your advance . I haven’t done this in years that I need to do it on my mustang 5.0 that I got in pieces. I’m pretty sure that’s the way it goes although I see people here stating that the distributor needs to be planted just to the left of that intake bolt
i thought the rotor button had to be just left of the upper intake bolt on the right side? Mine runs but I have the tfi module all the way up against the thermostat housing. I'll try this way. Thanks for the video.
You probably fixed it already, but the distribution is not lined up correctly and it throws of your injection firing order as well. Need to skip all wires one post clock wise.
lol, i was gonna say that but you beat me to it,ive never seen a TFI module pointing that far to the right on these cars before while on correct timing and these cars WILL start on 0 and 15 to 20 is way to much, wanna get them to 10/11 and work your way up slowly

Do you mean it should be pointing at the #1 cylinder when its at the top of stroke

Fuel lines were disconnected when removing the lower intake. Don't need to disconnect to remove distributor. Thanks for watching
What’s the name of the little gray chip?

I pointed mine just left of the right intake bolt also and the module is against the t-stat housing also. Did u ever fix it ? If so how ?
Mine is the same way runs good still if it’s not broke don’t fix it
How does a stock distributor get removed on 93 ford F150 5.o
Remove the hold down and twist the distributor and pull up

Do i need a timing gun for that?
To set the proper timing, you will need a timing light. Thanks for watching!
@@mikeshorsepowergarage7577 ok thanks man!
Wrong you need to have it at 0° that way the distributor isn’t off a tooth if it’s off a tooth it doesn’t run correctly
Runs Great!
ive been having problems for week not at the zero mark ..many videos say 10degrees advance that doesn't work it runs like crap!!
