    I love the key action on the FP30X, feels very much like a grand piano in the feel of it. It is for this reason that I only buy Rolands now, I have had Yamahas and a Kawai in the past, but that special real piano feel is just not there. On the whole, the FP30X ticks so many boxes, I just love it.

The FP-30x might be only average or even substandard for other purpose, but for piano emulation it is far and away the best you can get at the entry-level price point.

      I have $2100 digital piano Kawai CN39, this one is under $500, this is really cheap in digital piano world but don't have very high quality like Kawai that people willing to pay for for high end digital pianos. This is very good option for people just start playing piano, Jeremy is very good to find "cheap" pianos that have quality. Nur Syazwana Asri If you cannot afford a real digital piano and have never played before, you might consider the Yamaha EZ300. It is white, not too expensive, has a nice sound and some inbuilt lessons as well as a key-lighting system. It has only 61 keys but this is pretty sufficient to begin with. The keys aren’t weighted but they are pressure sensitive, though. Lastly, this keyboard is light and very portable, which might be nice if you’re a student and you’re commuting regularly between University and your parents home.

    One of the things that really intrigued me with the FP-60x over the FP-30x is the ability to adjust the sound directly, if where I live the FP-30X has a price of 699 euros, and the FP-60X 1100 euros, you would pay 400 euros for all the improvements they have? (taking into account all the details that you will not like in the FP-30 that could be better.)

    Hi Jeremy, thanks to your review I bought PSR E373 for my son last year and very satisfied with results. My son's piano skill and interest improve rapidly and his teacher said his skill is above average kids. He loves classical music and techno. Now he needs 88-key piano to pursue his passion in piano especially classical music.
    Should I buy this fpx30 (600usd) or kawai ca901 (2800usd) to support his piano journey? The reason I consider kawai is because I'm afraid that his skill will grow rapidly and we have to replace it with the new one again. He said he wants to play as good as LangLang.

    Waiting for drawbacks video. I'm also trying to figure out if the difference between 30x and 60x is worth additional 350 Euro (ie. more than 30% price difference in my country)... I know 60x has more features (a lot more actually) but the keybed is the same, paino sounds are pretty much the same and I'm not sure if I really need more... One thing that is useful for me is built in audio interface (which I think 30x has anyway..?)

    • @kpman644
      @kpman644 3 года назад +1

      I’m in the same situation. Very hard to decide. For the sake of 350 all you get is a nicer interface, more sounds and a slightly better speaker.

      every company that sells digital pianos tries to upsell you. Just look at the prices and model ranges. It's salesman psychology 101. Go the store, start with the cheapest piano available, focus on what's important for you. Imho, sounds is most important cause my hands can get used to less than perfect action but sound has to be as good as it gets. Use your own headphones if that option is important for you. find the cheapest digital piano that meets your demands. They all have gimmicks taht are pure marketing. be it the polyphony, or the 10 pianos (which 8-9 always sound like sh*t), or organs and strings, which hopefully nobody ever uses.

      In my opinion , much like how the ES8 has been replaced by ES920, the ES110Kawai model is due for a refresh. It's about 3 years old already. If you absolutely want a kawai, I would suggest waiting for them to release the new model.

      I had the Kawai. The key action is very light and allows for very expressive playing with excellent dynamics and a very good sound. What I didn't like is that the keys are also very noisy.

    Great review! Some day, in my journey of becoming a pianist, I will want to buy something like this. Roland definitely will be my weapon of choice in the future.
    I would love to hear your opinion on the m-audio hammer 88, and the included software. I just wonder if it can keep up with these heavy hitters like this fp-30x.
    It would be really cool to see a vst vs digital piano segment on your channel.

    Great video as usual Jeremy.This seems very interesting. I was wondering tho if you know what piano samples, models or whatever magic Supernatural does that Roland is using as FP30x presets. Yamaha, Bosendorfer, Steinway ect. I tend to like those piano tones better than other samples. I have to admit for about the same price I want to try out the new DGX 670 Yamaha with their acclaimed CFX samples. I am hoping it will let you add the Bosendorfer 290 like on the Montage/Modx. Looking foward to your review on the DGX. Thanks again. Blessings and best wishes.

      Supposedly a NY Steinway on the Rolands. Bösendorfer is now owned by Yamaha. Supposedly the 2nd piano on the 4th generation CLP is a Bösendorfer. The subsequent generation CLP confirms that.

      If you're intersted in grand piano buy a yamaha, they have the cfx samples. or kawai for their shigeru samples. but before you do anything, go to the store and dont let anyone stop you testing each brand and model for yourself. especially when you are looking for a specific sound, you MUST test it yourself.

    Hi Jeremy, thanks for your review - very useful. I am planning to buy digital piano for myself to learn and decided on Roland products. One question is regarding the PHA-4 key action. Is the difference between PHA-4 Standard on FP-30X and PHA-4 Premium on F701? Or may be subscribers here can also advise as the price difference is considerable. Thanks.

    • @leog3866
      @leog3866 3 года назад

      Hm, just checked the ROLAND web-site. For both 30X and 701 it is stated PHA4-Standard. But on the web-site of the local seller it is stated that F701 has Premium.

    If we play with our eyes closed on a rp 701 and a fp 30x, will you hear a big difference in sound quality when the technical sheet is identical? If it is to pay more because there is the price of the furniture, I choose the 30x. Does my reflection make sense? Thank you and sorry, my English is very bad.
