Asmongold reacting to content on twitch only helps the creator via exposure. Reacting isn't the reason many of his viewers tune in, and unlike youtube reaction channels, he doesnt directly profit from videos via ad reveneue. He essentially promotes creators for free/entertainment. Sure, many people who watch on stream wont watch the original video, but the ONLY gain is to the original creator, as asmongold gains nothing. You could argue catdany uploads are profiting from it, and they are, but in my experience that has only been helpful in terms of channel growth, and it's not like asmongold makes anything from those channels anyway. Honestly, I find the only people concerned with their content being stolen in this manor are ones who only care about profit from their videos, rather than a sense of community, channel growth, or aving their video seen. Of course money is important, but it's all they care about.
The funniest thing is, technically, Asmongold’s response is him reacting to Vaulty’s video. So think about it... Vaulty: “Asmongold’s reactions videos don’t count as fair use because he doesn’t add anything new to the original content” *proceeds to click the fully commented, **33:04** long video of his reaction on his **16:19** long accusation video.*

The format h3h3 used, was sued for, and subsequently won the case for is not the same format that Asmongold (and literally any other reaction streamer out there) uses. h3h3 successfully argued in court that using short clips of somebody's content whilst cutting back and forth to give their commentary on those segments was fair use. However, the method that streamers generally use, where they just show themselves in the corner of the screen whilst they watch through the video in its entirety, was not argued at all in that case. The h3h3 case simply does not apply here. I don't dislike Asmongold, but I greatly detest the way streamers show zero respect for copyright (unless it's for their benefit ofcourse). Pokimane quite infamously threw a massive shitfit when youtubers were including clips of her stream in their Twitch compilation videos, yet an overwhelming majority of her streams are simply her rebroadcasting other people's videos. I remember xQc going to sleep on stream and leaving episodes of Kitchen Nightmares playing back to back on his stream for hours while he was gone. At which point his stream was literally just a pirate broadcast of somebody else's TV show... That he was making money from. Granted, Asmon is better than most about the way he does things and, for the most part, provides some actual meaningful commentary on the things he watches onstream, but that does not absolve him completely. Honestly, the streaming community as a whole has a serious problem with mass ignorance regarding what copyright is and how it works as well as streamers having a shitty ass attitude towards other people's property. They feel entitled to rebroadcast other people's shit for personal gain because they have deluded themselves into thinking their mere existence in the corner of somebody else's video is grounds for 'fair use'. It's not. Tom Scott's fairly recent video on copyright is a great watch and would benefit the internet as a whole if everyone watched it. It goes into great depth to point out how a lot of the things that people generally THINK are transformative (and therefore 'fair use') aren't actually considered so. The way in which streamers have taken to just rebroadcasting other people's content on their streams for their own gain is most certainly not 'fair use'.
@@arstulex I dont like pokimane but what you said about pokimane is wrong, she copyrighted one video because of DRAMA reason, and not because of compilation reason (she engaged in a twitter drama and wanted it to be over). It was a dumb reason and it backfired on her. But it has nothing to do with "stealing contents". OfflineTV (Pokimane included) are fine with compilations video, they even hired one (Frizen) to be their official compilation guy. Their only problem was with one guy naming himselves OfflineTV and impersonating them in his video and channel description.

And I liked it, and now I subscribed here and will watch more later. 😁👍🏼

There's a reason people called him the Warcraft Bible 2.0, about a year ago I called him out on some of his videos for his blatant clickbait thumbnails with information that was just completely false (like a thumbnail of a respec in classic wow costing 100g, still up on his channel btw). All he had to say was basically 'ur just mad cause I get 10x more views, cry more noob!'. Glad to see more people are catching on to him schemes and calling him out for what he is.

Just gonna state how i do this. If Asmongold watches lets say a discussion video (e.g. bellular) i usually watch that video first to formulate an opinion and then watch his reaction and commentary to it. Most of the times tbh i find it more insightful to have someone else talk about these videos aswell. I would say this is like all the philosophy seminars i had where we had a text and wouuld debate over it. This is just a new form of this i would argue.
