    As a long time Kayano user, I bounced hard off the 30's and ended up with the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23. I know crazy stack heights are all the rage currently, but the 30's felt like I was running on marshmallows, felt really unstable and unresponsive. The Adrenalines felt more like my previous Kayano 27's, still supportive but without the marshmallow effect. I'm glad I actually took the time to try out the 30's properly and didn't just auto-buy because I've always run with Kayano's, the 30's are a radically different shoe and need to be treated as such.

      Im considering going from kayano 28 to something new. I don't like kayano 30 since they look soo big and clumsy.

      I'm in the same boat. I have the Kayano 30's and they are very unresponsive. After 3 miles they feel cumbersome. I just bought the GTS 23 and yes they have less cushion but are a lot more responsive and lighter.

      I've been an Adrenaline GTS user since the 15s. I tried the Kayano 30s to change things up and the shoe was just too squishy feeling and I started to get some lower back pain. Going back to the Adrenaline.

    You guys give really good reviews and I especially like your stability shoe reviews. I would like to see more stability shoe comparisons. Most shoe reviewers seem to focus on super shoes or lite, fast trainers. I like them too, but my left knee doesn't. Shoe softness and firmness continue to be terms with little or no definition, at least for us average runners. I like ASICS and run in the GT 4000 3, which I consider between soft and firm, leaning more towards the firm side. The last is similar to the Kayano 30 (wide), with a firm medial bridge. That helps my knee, but is a little clunky. Keep up the great work and keep us old guys with knee issues in mind! I may try the Brooks Adrenaline after your review. Thanks.

    The Hyperion GTS is working really well for me as an interval/speed session shoe. It complements my other shoes well, which are the saucony guide 16 for easy runs and the Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3 as my race day/faster long runs shoe.
    I think for those of us with stability needs it's good to not do our interval sessions in a super shoe, as a lightweight stability shoe gives our bodies more of an opportunity to condition to the faster speed as the shoe is doing less of the work.

    I tried the gel kayano 30 and thought they where too soft. I weight 86 kg. I wasnt expecting it buy when u look at the sole, its all (mostly) foam. I wasnt totally convinced so I did not buy them…
    The height of the heel was too much more than what I usually do and the sole is quite wide (but the upper part is not that wide if you have wide feet like me)

    Wouldn’t the ASIC Gel Kayano be a direct competitor to the Brooks Glycerin 20 GTS? Since they are both there, max cushion support shoe? The adrenaline is more of the cross trainer..
    Edit: I apologize for making a comment so early in the video because you address it at about 1:12. Thx for explaining why you’re comparing these two. You do need to give the viewers what they want. I get it.

    • @LixtianShanghai
      @LixtianShanghai 2 месяца назад

      i have plantar fascitis. speaking from experience, wider shoes is better, also I think plantar fascitis is more about muscle stiffness than the shoe. with the right stretch and foam roll, you should be able to get rid of it completely.

  • @stepheninnes6024
    @stepheninnes6024 Год назад +9

    I started running in 2019 and have gone through 7 pairs of Kayano. 26-29, but I'm glad they changed style and technology, as the 29s were probably the worst of the bunch. If Asics stuck with the same format, I would change to a different stability brand. I bought the new 30s but have 100 +km before I retire my 29s, but the 30s certainly feel and fit much better than the 29s

    I've been running in Kayano Lite 3s for the past 2 ish months while training for a marathon in the fall and am looking something with more stack for longer runs, and maybe the marathon itself. Would the 30s naturally just fill that cushion need? I'm aiming for 8:30-8:45 min/miles, so not going crazy. And I also use the Guide 15s, but my pair is on it's way out.

    How do you compare kayano 30 to Cumulus 25, do they feel the same actually? Wide base, sidewalls etc, quite similar arent they?

    • @DoctorsofRunning
      @DoctorsofRunning  Год назад +2

      Cumulus is softer by a good bit, even with lower stack which reduces stability. They did a good job of helping balancing that with some similar design elements.
      Kayano has a bit of a firmer base which makes a big difference for stability underfoot. Kayano may suit a wider audience than before, but should still be best for stability runners first and foremost. If you are comfortable in neutral shoes, the cumulus and nimbus are still the go-tos.

    I’m enjoying the ride of the Kayano 30, I don’t usually wear stability shoes but the Kayano is my choice coming back after an injury. Having said that, I’m experiencing hotspots on the ball of my feet after 5/6 kms. Some socks work better than others but it’s pretty annoying. I haven’t experienced the same on any other shoe, could this be due to the slightly wide fit of the Kayano? And is the fit the same on the Superblast? I have a narrow foot and I like the Adidas and Nike fit, usually. Thanks!
