This was totally planned by Crowder. And the reason why I think that is because how nervous he was in that video. If he truly believed his claims about being exploited in a contract then I feel like he wouldn't be so shaky and clenching his chest while talking in that first video. Normally when you think you are right about something you have confidence. Despite the fact the idea of an exploitive contract destroying the whole free-market idea that Crowder has espoused many many times trying to suggest that because we have free will that you can enter into a exploitive contract, kind of throws that whole capitalism thing in the toilet that he's been screaming about For years. I do a weekly show my channel about extremism in American politics and religion . And other politicking . And I try to make it funny so we don't cry. Come on by sometime and say hi.
The worst part is when he said it's about the movement and not the money. If you were fighting in a war and one of your men gets fatally wounded, would you agree to carry them on your back the whole time or continue fighting without them? This was such a moronic move. And to pretend as if they would be willing to sit down with you after this is beyond silly. He really cant be trusted now.
I am amazed how many of Crowder's followers hold the stance it's not about money it is about the penalties. What are these penalties? Less money. If he wanted to have free speech he could he would just make less money.
The fact that that is not a big deal to you is the problem. Stop catering to big tech. We need people who are going to report on topics truthfully without watering it down. I'm entirely against censorship. That being said, if Crowder was to sign this contract I think it would be hilarious if immediately people started to flag him so he lost revenue
$120 million is more than half of what Spotify gave Joe Rogan. The Daily Wire does not have the same money as Spotify, and Steven Crowder is not half as valuable as Joe Rogan, so if that's what Crowder was asking for, he was being absolutely absurd.
Rightwingers: When will the Left stop talking about slavery? Slaves didn't have it so bad here anyway, hehe. Rightwinger: Is this contract for 50 million dollars slavery??? 🤔
Steven doesn't understand, when you get to the $50M mark for compensation, people literally don't give a fuck about any of your complaints. They'll keep watching the DW and he can try to do something else, but people aren't going to see this as a bombshell nor do they give a shit about how you feel like a slave to a company whilst making $50M
Well considering he has to pay for his own production cost the salaries of 25 to 30 employees Camry equipment, studio equipment, everything that goes along with the show as well as mountains of legal fees out of that 12.5 million a year It all gets chipped away pretty fast, especially when you consider the fact that he was bringing almost 200 million in revenue over the course of those four years with new subscriptions
@@b.m.4066 And the reason he was offered 50 MILLION dollars was because of the pull he brought in. What I'm saying is that for the layperson, it's hard to sympathize with a 50M paycheck, and when you get to those numbers, he sounds like a whiner who took this public at first proposal when it should have been a private business discussion. It's a publicity stunt that's a bad look. People will follow him, but those who are versed in business know this was a bitch move.
@@ladychelseatheundead none of that changes the fact when you're bringing in almost 200 million and only getting paid 50 out of that plus a shitload of penalties is not a good deal. Not to mention, I would be willing to wager significant money that his average employees salary as well as his legal fees are considerably higher than yours
I can't believe I'm defending Crowder but even if the contract was 50 million bones. That contract was still hella shady. 👀 The fact that DW would absorb Crowder's content and back catalog and merchandise cut if he signed that is insane. Especially that they would keep that shit even if the contract was severed. And if we really look at the penalties in that contract, it's clear DW takes almost none of the risk and benefits greatly from absorbing his fan base and clicks he generates.
That isn’t true. They had the rights to his back catalog during the term of the contract which reverted back to him once the contract was done. They would own the content that is created during the term of the contract which is completely normal. The merchandise they’d make and sell during the term they’d get the revenue from because it’s part of what encompasses the fee they’re paying him. The only things they retained after the end of the contract are the things that are created during the term of the contract which is the way it works for every contract like this. And as is noted this was an initial offer sheet that he could negotiate which he refused to do. Crowders expectation was that DW pay him a guaranteed sum of money no matter what revenue his show generates and that all content they pay to make be owned by him so that he can then monetize it in perpetuity without investing anything into it while the company who did invest in it don’t. Crowder expected that DW take all the overhead risks to pay him for his show, including the risk that the show generate no revenue at all, and then he keep everything they paid for. He wanted the benefits of investor without any of the risks the investor incurs. That isn’t how it works anywhere and I can guarantee you that his expectations of what his contract should be won’t be how he writes any contracts for anybody who creates content for him.
You've got one thing right. He's trying to launch a competitor to the daily wire. But his reasoning for it is far beyond what your fake empathy can comprehend. I think that this split is also emblematic, not only of the future Trump/DeSantis possible rift, but also of the libertarian/heavier state solution Republican Party and associated constituency; as the party has picked up more working class voters and shed many of the upper-middle class suburban class they once held tightly, we’ve also seen a shift from the libertarian, free-market business model into the potential willingness to co-opt and utilize the state. One example of this is Trump’s insistence not to touch social security and his rhetoric on bringing businesses home, as opposed to the typical entitlement slashing, free-trade worshipping Reaganite faction. In the end, I think it’s good these fights are playing out, and I hope that the Democrats eventually get to hold their own battles instead of being instantly brought in-line by the media.
RUclips was only a percentage of his contract… they included other streaming and audio services. Had he lost RUclips monetization, it would have only affected that percentage of his income mix.
Even if he got the Alex Jones media treatment, he could make $5M/yr for DW+ exclusive content under the presented terms. Even after production cost he could have pocketed millions.
A very important fact to remember: Crowder had to give up his email list when he left the Blaze. He's got nothing, this is a ploy to rebuild an audience.

I think crowder was insulted by their offer. They offered him 50 million over 4 years. Crowder makes like 48 million a year from his mug club alone. But then the strategic thing to do would be to renegotiate the contract. Do you think the Daily Wire don't know Crowder's demonetization issues if they are real? If they know such demonetization is real, then that clause was intentionally written to rip off Crowder, but that is not the way real businesses write contract clauses. It's like the Daily Wire was just trolling, playing with Crowder maybe? I don't think so, it doesn't make sense. So if DW wrote that clause, to me that means that either there is no actual demonetization in Crowder's channel, or DW don't even know about it, which is strange.

Back when Jarred and Hanz where on Crowder it was actually a cool show. They did a review of Any Schumer that was really funny.

$120 million is more than half of what Spotify gave Joe Rogan. The Daily Wire does not have the same money as Spotify, and Steven Crowder is not half as valuable as Joe Rogan, so if that's what Crowder was asking for, he was being absolutely absurd.
This whole thing is very revealing into Crowder’s character.
@@b.m.4066 Nah he was being given access to DW studios, plus he already has all of that equipment himself. He's just being unreasonable tbh
@@b.m.4066 Just FYI, I pay for the salaries of 30 people and I personally don't even make $1M/year (and my business makes less that 5M), but go on.
Yeah, so then he could just no sign it.
@@deadeyedarwin which is why the daily wire is being childish
He wants a contract without "enforcement"? LMAO! That's precious

The argument is sound by Steven. I believe he has been demonetized for years now.
