Oh my gosh I love your demonstration! This is going to be on my next exam and I read my book several times to try to understand abd percussion but it would just not make sense in my head( I am a visual learner). Thank you so much for making this video 💗
Thank you for this! I feel pretty lucky that I am still able to go to nursing school during this time of isolation, but learning skills through zoom is so hard! I appreciate seeing that it's possible to practice on myself and at least get a little more comfortable with the process
Thank You so much! you have made this easy to understand and possible to practice. Not everyone has lots of willing patients. I will be checking out your other videos as well and am now subscribed. thanks again
Thank you so much. Feel much more confident now. I don't have anyone to do the assessment on as of now. Covid-19 is giving all the students a challenge. Thank you so much!
i appreciate this very much. what would be great is to have a video that goes over the proper/expected report. Ex: when reporting color should you just say expected for ethnicity, or include no jaundice, cyanosis, redness, bruising, striae, etc? what would be the minimum acceptable, but still covering everything. thank you!
Hi! The palpation should be before percussion- in the abdomen the important thing to note is auscultation needs to be before palpation for a couple of reasons 1) it is said palpation can alter the frequency of resting bowel sounds and 2) if you palpate and it is tender - you may not have the ability to complete your assessment because the patient will refuse
If the patient is an abdominal post op patient e.g. endovascular coiling due to hepatic bleeding and the pain is in control, can we still do that deep and specialised palpation to check the liver?
I use a Littman classic. At first you are listening for one thing: is there sound? If you hear no bowel sounds (gurgles), listen for a full minute. If you hear sounds, then are they faint and far between or so many that there is never a break. Chart what you hear
I give the many time give exam but i am not successful so please give me suggestions about NCLEX questions exame because i want improve professional education but i not successful so please help me

Great,
Why did you do Percussion before palpation?

If the patient is an abdominal post op patient e.g. endovascular coiling due to hepatic bleeding and the pain is in control, can we still do that deep and specialised palpation to check the liver?
Great question! I hope nurses who work in this area can answer this.
Thank you for making this video👍
My pleasure 😊
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! THIS MAKES ME DO MY RET DEM GOOD!

Thank you for watching and sharing how this video was helpful. I appreciate it 💕
Need this type of lessons form head to toe assessment
It is on my list of videos to make - just need someone who will be my patient ;)
Especially breast examination. I usually get lost
I really appreciate❤
😊
Thank you so much! ❤️
What about palpation of the spleen?
Under normal conditions you will not feel the spleen - :)
Mam can you explain about ausculto-percussion test?
I am wondering if you are thinking about locating liver edges through the scratch test? Am I on the right track?
@@NurseMinder Thank you mam
Auscultate the abdomen. Start scratching the skin over the liver and move down. As the sound changes, you have discovered the liver border
Thank you for this video
Thanks a lot, that's awesome♥♥
Thank you for letting me know 😊
Just subscribed.
Thank you
Thank you so much
No problem! I know it can feel like a lot when you learn from a book and have limited time with an instructor

@@NurseMinder Great video Happy New Year which stethoscope do you have? what do you look for when listening to your stomach? Many thanks in advance

@@NurseMinder Thanks, it is difficult to find bowel noises Which Littmann Classic Stehoscope do you have? do you also listen to the lower abdomen?
I have had mine for 15 years. I dont know if they have changed names. It is just the classic. I see a classic II that is like mine
In typhoid fever... Is there abdominal bloating and distension in children?
What did your research find?
@@NurseMinder I didn't find.. I m asking you?
I have not researched it, if you did not find anything, where did the question come from? Have you seen a patient with these symptoms?

Thank you for your comments .. there are many variables that make completing an abdominal assessment challenging - being ticklish is one of them
💞
it's really rare for our nurses taking examination on patients
Interesting
@@NurseMinder Yep, I try to teach them by creating youtube videos like this: ruclips.net/video/lYYxgIltgNg/видео.html
Every day I did my assessment on every patient I had, while I barely saw a MD do even a focused assessment…
@@olgaholland9020 oh Its opposite to my hospital
@ in the USA that’s what every nurse is taught to do … of course we have some slackers, but mostly nurses assess their patients during their shifts…
I subscribe 🥰
thank you!
Ottima visita medica all addome

Why do you measure surgical scars?
If they are new surgical scars, we need to monitor them healing / or worsening tears. If they are old, it is for documentation.
@@NurseMinder thank you for your response that is interesting to know because I have surgical scars.
Very educational! But nice bellybutton as well!
This makes me laugh lol
