I watched a Netflix documentary on Mr. Ferencz a while back, and was amazed at this man's life; all he had done with it and was still doing. We tend to think of 'heroes' as big, tall, physically imposing - all the movie tropes. But this tiny human being managed to bring some of the most evil men of the 20th cent. to account, and his work with the ICC is marred only by countries - like the US - refusing to join. Here, he is absolutely right - war makes otherwise decent people into murderers, and it's far past time we found other means of solving political disputes, shared in resources, and actually respect the humanity within all. War is stupid. God bless this good man, and give him rest. He's earned it.

What's really cool is that Ben didn't just take his place in history being a leading prosecutor, but continued his work up to the end of his life standing up for human rights. Also i was amazed that he spoke of same sex marriages and trans people so candidly as being a firm of progress, when other old people may have difficulties in dealing with these types of societal changes. This person has lived a great life.
