@clorox bleach Because it‘s important that young, impressionable and insecure girls growing up with social media realize that many influencers lie and that what is falsely praised and advertised as „100% natural“ is often unattainable without plastic surgery. Not comparing yourself with surgically altered models and realizing that nobody is perfect, are needed steps towards loving yourself and being comfortable with how you look
This “aunt” character is getting more an more popular...so women have different standards to look up to now other than being moms, wives with 3 children? Not bad
Hearing YOU, someone I consider one of the prettiest people on all of social media, talk about insecurities so candidly is incredibly eye opening. Thank you. You are a beautiful soul ❤️
Hearing about how Amber really feels makes me wanna cry. Its easy to motivate people but very hard to motivate yourself. You're always stuck with your own thoughts and most of the time those thoughts are really damaging and effect you deeply.
"Being stereotypically prettier gets you what? More likes, hotter boyfriend.. cant think of anything else... a slight easier pass through life? What it DOESN'T get you is a bigger heart, peace of mind, true love, and all the things in life that hold immense value".
My favourite book quote reads, "She was the kind of pretty that steals your breath, and the kind that you can't capture in a photo, because the beauty is in the movement." And it's beautiful.
I read a book ages ago where it said about the BFF of the beautiful heroine. This woman was not beautiful and her face was not attractive. But she was the most elegant and had best taste in society of....? Sorry, don't remember the title. Don't remember the beautyful heroine, either. I read minimum twenty books per year, from different libraries and from friends. No way to find it. Was times of long dresses and horse carriages and city could have been Paris. There is so much more to remember a person than just good looks. Girls look like clones of Kim K. these days with same eyebrows, same cheekbones, same lips.

This video is gold. As a Secondary School teacher, I'm used to seeing teenagers struggling to get to this crazy, unreal beauty standards. Thank you for addressing this issue in such a realistic and coherent way. Let's embrace our own, unique beauty. Learning to look at ourselves with love and compassion is a life- long task, but so rewarding... Kisses from Spain.

I don’t know about the situation you talked about, but.. no one would ever be able to imitate someone for so many years, not feel their breath taken away, because as humans, you wanna show your own soul, and you will feel drown if you would do that for a long time.. start from yourself, would you take someones place, and live as them!?.. that’s not good if you would, change your life, be you, maybe your version of yourself is what you never got to try.💛✨ p.s. and if something looks similar, that’s called inspiration.. we all are inspiration of something, we all, without knowing, puzzle ourselves with different parts of life.:)

It’s all bullshit. Beauty is very essential in life. Talking about however they want will not change it. The only people who try convince themselves with that it isn’t important are the ones that know they can’t achieve it. But the ones who have it and benefit from it will say otherwise. Just like with money etc…
@@DX-d I agree but also her message is that even if you become extremely beautiful, the happiness and confidence comes from within. So what I got from this video myself is not that beauty is not important or nice, but that we should not lie to ourselves that if I do all these procedures I'll be happy. That's me personally at least

Growing up one of the most beautiful girl in my class was absolutely shattered by trying to live up to the standard of beauty. She ended up in the hospital with severe eating orders. She died before she reached 25 because of the damage she did to her body trying to be "beautiful". Today with this, you proved your beauty with your care, compassion and your wisdom. Thank you.
Same story as yours, but my colleague died at 29 because she had dieted too much, hoping to find a good husband. That was the moment I stopped being obsessed with looking marriageable by 30 that the society I live in enforces and focused on my health. Health IS beauty and tranquility.

I’m a male and this made me emotional I wish the world wasn’t like this . I know life is about choices , but I want everyone to be comfortable in their skin. Media plays such a ugly part in all of this . Thank you for making this video Amber
When she was look at the camera and said “theres some things i could change right now” and to me she looks absolutely perfect i dont notice an imperfection. It made me realise that the little things i notice about my face for example: my eyes are shaped differently, my nostrils are shaped differently, my face isnt simetrical. It made me realise that no one notices these things except for me and i should stop worrying about them
this made me cry coming from someone who does not have very good self confidence. I struggle to look at myself and people always either call me names for it or shame me for it. You truly are one awesome person amber. i remember just watching your videos when i was younger and now i’m here and i’m glad, you opened my eyes to look at the brighter side. thank you.

Honestly, I’ve never seen makeup as a way to cover up insecurities until someone told me I needed it. I was so angry and upset because makeup was always my expression, but someone made fun of me for wearing and that I should only wear natural makeup to present myself to the world. Ever since then, It’s become bolder, crazier and I’ve dived into the best style of makeup (sfx). I don’t do makeup for other people, but more for artful expression.
That is horrible I went through a similar situation even though I’m 23 -year-old woman and this was back in fourth grade/ five I will never forget what this girl told me,she went up to my face- wasn’t afraid to say it either, and told me the only way that I’ll be beautiful if I wore make up and from there on, I smother my face and make up all because of comments that people would say at school and obviously it followed me up through out high school as well. But recently I stopped wearing make up as much because what’s the point who am I trying to impress, and my skin is still recovering the amount of make up that I don’t even need, make up isn’t supposed to cover it’s supposed to enhance what is already there. Even though I’m i’m not where I was before, it still hurts sometimes. It’s nice to know that we’re not alone in this feeling if insecurity
So grateful for this video. I lost 45 lbs in 2020 and males that never gave me a second look started to notice me and even talk to me complimenting me on "how good I look". I thought wow if only they realized my inner beauty before...

She gives therepy to all of us and herself. I bet she smiled a sigh of relief after filming this video knowing that she sends bundles of precious merry vibes to everyone by sitting in the corner of her room. The power is not in the beauty but the the beauty is in the Power
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. No one is born looking like a super model. Wealth is a huge factor when it comes to beauty. Lower class Americans can't afford botox, lip filler, and hundreds of dollars of makeup, tanning memberships, fitness coaches, etc. Beauty to me is nature, the ocean, my pets, family all together, people helping each other. Beauty is more than just some egotistical contest to determine who we want to mate with. This video was powerful and I want to see you push this stance more on your platform. Keep going girl!
This is terrible advice. -The truth is that people are attractive to ATTRACT others, that is the only purpose of it. It is a biological goal. It's never "for you". - Beauty standards do exist, it changes the exposure. Today Tinder made people more acceptant of their sexual exploration and attractiveness tilted to show that (there is more voluptuousness today, but that is just a more direct reference to sex for the purpose of attract attention, but that always existed, today is just more publicly acceptable). But that is not the beauty a man looks for in a partner, just in a Tinder date, just as 20 years ago. In the 90's were designers that imposed the thin girls, not men, because the actresses were the same type (Kim Basinger, Scarlett Johansson. Pretty is pretty). The more food we have, the more important as a sign of restrain becomes being in shape. Proxies multiply the more complex society becomes. - The pressure comes from sexual competition. Today people eat better and exercise their body parts almost professionally. All comes down to competition and context. Tech makes you a billionaire, nerds become attractive when in the past they weren't. The tandem is always status/ beauty for men and women. They problem is always us as individuals. You want people not to be so demanding?. Go live to a country less developed, they have lighter standards. Beauty in Senegal requires less than in Los Angeles. But if you want friends in L.A they will demand that you play the game or you make them look bad. It is you who has to decide how much you want to be part of that game that gives you a partner and friends that are used to a certain standard, which is the amount of work you have to put in. If you go to a rural area, they will not be that harsh, but you are not obliged to play this game in big cities. You cannot make the world adapt to you, that is the problem here. The nonsense of not caring is toxic to your soul, because it makes you believe that they are the problem, when you want their friendship and attention without following their rules. You would think an Amish girl might not be cool and that if she wants a partner she has to step up her game, the same as a girl from a small village in South America coming to NY. When other have the problem you see it clearly, but when it is you, you think it is unfair. Sexual selection creates competition. The same way you wouldn't date a man who wants to be a sculpture artist and read poetry working at McDonalds for his entire life, he has the pressure for status, you have yours for appereance. The video does not shows you what the problem is and gives you nonsensical idea that you can control how you feel when how you feel is your body telling you how well you are playing the game according to your goals in that group o humans. Either you change, or change location. They will not change the same you will not low your standard to accommodate people from rural areas.

The part when she said she used to post pictures all the time but hasn’t taken one in months hit home. I took maybe 3 pictures last year because I hate my nose so much.
I totally felt that too. I remember when I was younger I used to take so many selfies and pictures without much of a care, without care for if I looked “pretty enough” at the moment. I used to just have fun taking selfies. Now I barely take pictures of my face, and if I do I can’t help but feel the need to look “pretty” or presentable enough to feel worthy of such pictures. I can never take pictures just for fun anymore like I used to when I was younger. I now realize how much social media and the pressure to look “beautiful” has impacted me and shaped me as a person, it is disheartening.
The minute I stopped comparing myself I began to feel more confident and beautiful in my own skin. I am beautiful in my own way and I’m beautiful for myself . Just because I’m skinnier doesn’t make me ugly because I am beautiful in my own way. I accept myself for who I am and I have come a long way to accept myself and feel good about me
I can’t express how badly I needed to see this at this point in my life, and I’m sure that goes for most people right now. Thank you for this. You’re a really special and incredible person.
A guy litterally told me that "I girl value is how pretty she look, and she is pretty or not is acording to beauty standard. If she is smart or rich is just an add-up and doesn't matter", and even to today, I still few that he is so fucked up

I’m 28 years old and to be honest, I always felt like I was the ugliest one of my sisters and it didn’t help that I had extended family telling me that I looked nothing like my mom, that I’m not as pretty as my mom, and that I’m the ugly twin. I find that sometimes when I make an effort in my appearance that I get the wrong kind of attention. This past year, I’ve been working on my journey to self-love. You look stunning by the way!❤️
Kiara, you may not have heard it from family members, but shower yourself in affirmation and love.💛 You deserve it and are completely worth it. Ps. The things they said, don't have to travel with you into the present. Let that be a piece of the story you leave behind. It was always rubbish.

I rarely comment but you’re right, you’re so much more than just pretty, you’re inspiring and using your voice to teach us Selflove. I doubt you’ll see this but if you do, I just wanna say, as someone who followed you for years I’m proud of where you’re now. :)
I'm always a spectator and never comment. I don't even know why I click this video, but truly grateful I did. For what you say is that, the truth. A difficult truth, but something we as women should take time for ourselves and understand. So thank you for this video at this time, in this place 🖤🖤🖤
when she said not once she thought she needs bigger ass. That got me. Its absolutely true. The standard of beauty chances with time and some people gets insecurities because of it. Back then I really used to suffer by having big butt as everyone was skinny with flat ass. They looked beautiful in every pants, clothes and I couldn't wear pants because my ass would stick up and I couldn't find pants which fitted me well. Its all about slim\thin body like models. So, i used to go to tailor to sew jeans skirt for me which would hide my butt. But when Jlo came and started a trendz of big butt beauty standard started changing. But now Im in a country where everybody loves slim body like Black Pink. So, now I don't give a damn. Now, everybody wants big butt, big boobs, thin waist and skinny ones have insecurities. Hope soon every shapes and sjze will be admired and loved. We all are beautiful but our inner good intentions, our pure hearts, our good mindset, love for other, forgiving nature, good attitude sets our beauty. God bless you all. Stay safe✝️💖
I totally agree. When I was around 17, I used to get comments such as "oh, you are so beautiful", "you look like a model", "I'm so jealous of you". A few years passed and those comments slowly shifted to "you are way too thin", "you should eat more", "arent you anorexic?", "you are a stick". My body didn't change. I did not lose weight (in fact, I gained some). What changed was beauty standards. And that is perfectly fine. What is not fine, in my opinion, is that we treat people bad when their looks don't meet these standards.
@@Kat-qf7ov yes you are 100 right. Beauty standard changed totally. We are not ugly, non of us have ugly shaped body neither thin, slim nor fat, curvy we all have perfect body but we suffer due to change in new trendz. This body shaming has to stop. I know that soon this big butt trendz will be over and slim\thin trendz will come again if some famous celebrities will rock their slim body with stylish dresses\cloths like JLo with big butt did to change the beauty standard. Back then what she did was good for insecure heavy girls but some people doesn't understand that admiring our curvy bodies doesn't mean we should degrade slim\thin girls. Some big girls will spread body positivity at the same time body shame thin girls which I totally hate it. If you have slim body you are beautiful, you can rock it with every type of dresses you desire to wear, it will fit you and look absolutely gorgeous. I really suffered with big butt back then I nearly started taking drugs to loose my fats from my butt and thighs. So, I understand how thin girls now are suffering. Most of them go through surgery so, we don't see flat\slim girls nowadays. Everyone are curvy if you check Insta. Just check out korean, chinese, hongkong girls how they rock their slim body. There large body are not considered the best and I live there. Now curvy ones are appreciated but I choose wrong country everytime😄. So, some of us will always be suffering with insecurities nomater which trend will come, all we need is to admire every shapes and sizes. All the best to you, stay happy and healthy with your gorgeous body💖
Im so sorry for longest comment ever. One thing I like to add up is I was suffering and had my insecurities living in Asian country where beauty standard was\is always high, slim perfect body with no flaws, crystal clear skin was\is considered the best and there was zero knowledge about body positivity and calling someone fat, big butt was totally ok, it was considered just harmless teasing. Nobody cared when I used to be teased with fat names. I also considered it to be ok, i got used to it but it also nearly ruined\killed my whole life. Thats another whole story. Now I am happy with best loving husband. But one thing, I somewhere feel like he also considers slim body beautiful because he never complimented by big butt, may be once or twice. He doesn't tell me anything so, I can tell it. As he is an Asian, lived his whole life in Hongkong so, its in his brain. I think so. Or may be it is in my head. I don't know. Now, I sound crazy😄. Well, I give a damn care and love my body. we all should be happy in thin\slim, curvy\fat whatever body we are born in.

I feel like amber is the rich aunt who's experienced in life and who I can look up to.

It made me realise that no one notices these things except for me and i should stop worrying about them

Do you do videos on your channel with sfx makeup?
Devenie Foster no, but my ig is makeup.Kallie I only started in November, but it is one of my favourite things to do on my free time.

Keep going girl!
what an amazing video!!
Yes it is !❤️
Very idk why those few disliked it🤦🏾♀️
Damn fam ❤
This is terrible advice.
-The truth is that people are attractive to ATTRACT others, that is the only purpose of it. It is a biological goal. It's never "for you".
- Beauty standards do exist, it changes the exposure. Today Tinder made people more acceptant of their sexual exploration and attractiveness tilted to show that (there is more voluptuousness today,
but that is just a more direct reference to sex for the purpose of attract attention, but that always existed, today is just more publicly acceptable). But that is not the beauty a man looks for in a partner,
just in a Tinder date, just as 20 years ago.

Hands down the best video I’ve seen about the beauty standards.
I hope people are sending this video to encourage and uplift one another. U go girl!!
The part when she said she used to post pictures all the time but hasn’t taken one in months hit home. I took maybe 3 pictures last year because I hate my nose so much.
Your nose is beautifullllll
Ur nose i beautiful!!! Go girllll!
I’ve been dealing with this as well 🤦🏽♀️
You don't have my nose. So go take those pictures!
If she is smart or rich is just an add-up and doesn't matter", and even to today, I still few that he is so fucked up
Let’s pray he find the right one

So true, beauty is what you make it to be. There’s nothing more desirable and sexy than a person who believes and knows how magical they are.
I’m crying with you I needed to hear this. Make it a series
every sunday!! i’m gonna do a different topic but yes, this is definitely a series ♥️
@@AmberScholl PLEASE make it a series. We all need our big sis Amber to pull us through ❤️💖🥰 You're the sister I've never had.
I started crying, the wording was so well chosen and you brought the message across so understandably. It just hit different. Thank you Amber.
HEY EVERYONE! We hope you’re having an amazing day and staying safe during this pandemic 🙏🏼 we are a lesbian couple in our twenties who vlog if anyone wants to check out our videos 🏳️🌈😊
God bless🤍
“You’re the source of life, act like it” 🥺
“Beauty is not the currency you have to pay to exist in this world”
Can’t remember who wrote this but it stuck with me c:
Thank you for including your thoughts on your own journey chasing beauty, because it's easy to preach the same message, but to hear from someone who seems like the social media standard really helps. I know that it's vulnerable and that's why your genuine spirit really shines through.
The difference between other RUclipsrs and you is that most of the time you try to show us the real you and I personally appreciate that. Greetings to those whose agree with me. I apologize for my bad/ugly grammar.
Your grammar was just fine & your message was perfect!
