I think he is ready to chase Olympic gold. For someone his level ncaa doesn’t give him much competition. He wants to be the best in the world not the best in college. Doesnt do much for him being 24 beating 20 year olds
Heard a rumor that AJ Ferrari might have a shot of getting 4 years of eligibility back. He has 3 years confirmed and apparently he can try to get his sophomore year back because of him getting into a car crash. If he actually returns with 4 years that’ll be absurd (though id be surprised if he got more than the 3 years of eligibility confirmed)
I don’t think starocci or brooks is gonna get their 4th title because all 4x college colors are really bright while Penn state is dark 😁 Edit: My proof is all the Iowa guys like Dan gable and Spencer Lee losing
I don’t buy it. I think he’s coming back for number 5. It would be historic. There’s no one in history that would have the opportunity to do it. I don’t see him turning it down.

@@jeffayers65they maxed out what they could achieve, both of them, and because Carlton haselrig was so dominant the NCAA changed the rules so d2 champs couldn't wrestle in the d1 tournament......that's as close as it ever comes and starrocci isn't finished yet, he could get beat, he could still make up his mind and wrestle another yr and become a 5 x champ

@@JoshShanahan1carter never lost a year though. NCAA for whatever reason gave the free year in 2021 not 2020, so seniors like hall, pletcher, Moore, lugo, etc got screwed while freshman like carter got a free year by just luck
@@chase86903 they can't really compensate afterwards, and they gave it to everyone to be fair. Carter got lucky which is why this rare chance is possible. Not to say it's unreasonable but lucky

Well first off, once you compete and become an all American 4 times they won’t let you get a fifth. So a fifth title can’t happen

Best to focus on this one right now. NCAA wrestling tournament is not a given for anyone.
He is hedging his bets. If he loses this year, it will be his last. If he wins, you know he will want to make history and be the ONLY 5X

looks like he went 18-0 wrestling unattached his freshman year in 2019-2020, which he red shirted so the bonus year is just that since he red shirted.
