The no brainer would be to have Barr at 184 and have Mirasola start a few against smaller schools but keep his redshirt and then bring in Starocci. I imagine it all comes down to whether Carter wants to take on Parker Keckeisen. Carter very likely gets to decide first where he wants to be and then the roster will form around him. Obviously, Mirasola can come in and possibly compete for a title as a true freshman, but wouldn't that cut Barr out essentially?
What’s the point of coming back if he’s only gonna get on the mat 10 times. I think this latest trend of 15-20 matches a year sucks and is demeaning the sport. We used to see guys heading into NCAAs with 40 matches under their belt. Dealing with injuries I get but actively staying off the mat… cowardly is all I can think of
How is that cowardly? You don't know his health condition and you aren't a 4x champ either. Who cares how many times he wrestles . It's his world his decision. He can be the first and only 5 time champ EVER
Brooks is another level better than Starocchi.. Brooks is super human, but Starocchi won't win a title at 197.. notice he's skipping over 184 because he won't be Kekieson.. it's the NIL money keeping them around
You are totally underestimating Starr. He's as talented as Brooks and wud win 197 or 184. Who wud beat him other than PK from Northern Iowa. Starr turns it on when he wants too. Won a title with a fracture in his wrist and a bad knee.
Starocci is the proper spelling. He would easily win 84 or 97. And 2, if he wrestles 97. 84 isn't a locl for anyone. Don't think for one second that Barr won't be in that mix
