Carter showed there’s levels to this game. And he’s on his own level by himself. Go ahead and give him the Hodge now bc that dude ain’t losing anyone this season. 🙏🏼
Wade Schalles had a video series called Legal Pain. The whole point was put so much discomfort and pain on your opponent that they want to get pinned or quit
Mekhi hasn't gotten better it seems. The year he won, nobody took him down coming into the finals. And he had a run on the international scene.. that person is gone
I guess we were watching a different match. Joseph got caught being sloppy reckless and he paid with points. But he didn't get handled. I saw the same thing happen to Spencer and he ended up counting lights. No matter how good you are, you can never be reckless.
Starocci (3 timer) > Mekhi Lewis (1 timer) > Joseph (2 timer) > Isiah martinez (2 timer). Hard not to think in an average weight class that Mekhi is not a 3 timer
Carter Starocci with big pressure and a dominant win over former NCAA champion and #2 ranked Micha Lewis spells trouble for every body @ 174. Def a statement win.
The bow and arrow with the toe is covered is dangerous. Official was on top of it. They will need to watch this the way they watched Spencer Lee's arm bars.
Carter looks completely dialed in and i think he will win his fourth, but lets not forget just last year! Both Spencer and RBY who i believe had the two longest undefeated streaks both lost defending their title and going for number 4 and 3 respectfully. Or Otoole losing too Carr twice during the year then putting it all together when he had too! Literaly anything can happen and as I'm sure you all know wrestling is the one sport where just one mistake can literally cost you everything, but that is also what makes it so great!
Im a penn state fan, but man...i felt for mekhi...he was in such obvious pain during this match. I wonder if it would have been a little closer if he wad healthier? Who knows....carter is on another level....
Carter is on a whole other level, the only person that can beat Carter this year is Carter, doubtful he takes anybody lightly or takes his foot off the pedal.
Proof as to why you should work on your speed explosiveness and strength as much as your technique. There were no secret moves in that match. Just power and explosiveness.
It was pretty close until the end of the 2nd period. I don't think this was a super beatdown or anything, but Starocci is definitely improving quicker than Lewis.
I think going up a weight class wasnt a good move for him. Guys at 174 are just as strong as him, his strength is still an advantage at 174 but it was greater at 165
I’m all for pure dominance and relentless , I’m not for purposely hurting an opponent. That turq was way past legality and to do it on his wrapped knee is just beyond screwed. It’s a game at the end of the day

what is loosing
I agree, but I thought that about Spencer Lee last year
@@francostacy7675Spencer wasn’t wrestling healthy, Carter is. But you’re right there’s always an opportunity for an upset.

That first period was the finest defensive wrestling I've ever seen.

Carter brings it every second of the match. Pressure, Pressure, Pressure!
People in the comments are part of the softer generation. Wrestling has never been a nice sport. It’s physical and mean.
only two dummies so far

Starocci's cardio breaks people. Relentless shooter.
One man was trained to win.
Another man was trained not to lose.
Mekhi handled a Penn State great, Vincenzo Joseph, for his lone title. Crazy to think how good Carter is if he can do this to Mekhi.
Lewis is one weight up but he’s huge so I don’t think it’s much of a difference

Starocci is so crazy. Bro was shooting like he was boutta lose the match with 10 seconds left while up by 7.
Carter is absolutely relentless. He just keeps attacking and bringing endless pressure. His cardio is insane. Guy is very fun to watch!
Mekhi has not wrestled freely & aggressive since his freshman year .
I really wish someone would let him get healthy. I haven't seen him without a knee brace in years...
The bow and arrow with the toe is covered is dangerous. Official was on top of it. They will need to watch this the way they watched Spencer Lee's arm bars.
This guy has to be the favorite for the Hodge at this point. If this is really his number two matchup at this weight, it's by far the most free weight
Hwt as well.
Lewis is legit carter is just that good
@@nate_too_much Lewis is a massive fraud. He's living off the memory of 4 years ago. He even admitted in an interview that he just lacks the desire

I wish he'd come back to try for 5, but he's already said he won't. However, being the only one in history would be something

Or an injury. Let's hope he's healthy enough. Rematch in the quarters.
Most excellent Starocci!
Penn states never has issues with their gas tank.
BIG gap between one and two….. Carter is a freak and will be something else post wrestling
Mekhi looked like he got hurt or tweaked something.
no he’s just a chump
Wrestling is a combat sport, there’s a fine line between wrestling mean and intentionally injuring someone
Very impressive but the commentators need more help in their verbiage use. Action was from the start of the match. Fantastic performance
😮 I never expected this match to be like this!
Amazing wrestling by these young mean.

Until Lewis develops offense to go with his great defense he want get to the top!
Surprised to see that actually. He wasn't doing anything on offense. Different than when he wrestled Cenzo. Or so it seems.
Mekhi obviously injured hasn’t been the same since he won his title. Starocci way ahead of Mekhi.
i think moving up a weight class was a mistake
faked injury
WOW 😱
Give bro the Hodge now!
I think that's why he was so upset about not wrestling Big10s. He wanted that Hodge.
I hate Carter but must admit he can back up his talk with his results
