At the risk of looking like an idiot, I took the RS out to see if I could get a sub-4-second zero to sixty time. Well, I succeeded in one, and not the other.
Since the algo like 10 minutes vids, use the below to skip to the good part:
    07:07 3rd attempt at 0 to 60mph

Good video, I've had a RS 660 for a year now and have had no problems with it at all. I have done a SC project exhaust upgrade as well as a up-map remap. The RS 660 is the perfect bike for both street and the track. The bike is great on the street, great on the track and all you have to do is tape it for the track and you're are ready to go. It is perfectly balanced for both street and track and mine has had very good reliability - right at 7000 miles with no problems. I cannot think of another bike that can compete with this bike when it come to being BOTH a street bike and a track bike - Great Job Aprilia.

      It's truly great.
I'm a long time sport bike rider, mostly 600s-- it's not that much slower than a typical I4 600 and actually I feel like it's better in the corners because of it's low end power-- the riding position is dead on for still being able to get into an attack position but not being a back killer.
400 pounds wet also we're 25 pounds heavier than a 400 lol it's so flickable.
Such a fun bike. I love it, only 800 miles so far but I'm so happy w/this thing. Newer riders thinking it's not "fast enough" are clowning themselves, it's in the same region for all practical purposes as the 600 class which nobody considers slow.

Drag racing is not as easy as it seems is it. I have been doing it for 40 years cars and bikes. I drag my 660 against my in-line four friends and I can take the 600s. I think a real drag guy could take my 660 but I haven't met him yet. On paper I should lose but I have been doing it so long I have an edge. Tips, Rev the 660 hard, set the wheely control all the way. Shift 1st gear manually, and quick shift hard at 10,500 thru each gear. It will only get you mid 12 seconds 1/4 miles, but like I said most people don't know how to really drag race. My little 660 is a tiny monster and it can be ridden hard and will ask for more.

@@no_name4080 seen a RS660 vs a Daytona 675, the rs660 won lol but the dude did a sprocket change on his 660 + tuned with Sc project cr-t so idk if that helps a bit, the 660 is no slouch but… I’m good lol

Nice video. I like that you don’t pretend to be something your not and didn’t cut out the poor starts. As an ex Australian Superbike racer, who started out racing in the Australian 250cc production class bikes (2 strokes). Try launching them with an up hill start and longer gearing to cater for Phillip Island. With a field of 40 all trying for the perfect start it taught you a lot and helped in becoming really good for 0-100 kph times and above before turn one. Most of the world champions from Australia started in the class (post dirt racing) so it gave then the best of both worlds when they were young. 👍😎🇦🇺

Nice, I bought my tuono factory v4 from af1 as well I got the 2020. I live in marble falls, I like to take 1431 into austin, that's a really fun road if you've never taken it, pretty fast paced and lots of elevation changes. Maybe I'll see you around I'll look for a 660. ride safe 🖖

The 660 bike is great. I love mine as a daily rider but it's extremely boring for going fast lol. My RSV4 ruined my perception of speed so now the 660 feels slow but it's still an amazing daily or commuting bike that looks sexy af

When you’re doing your 0-60, hold the front brake, rev it a bit (maybe 2k-4k?), slip the clutch to let the rear tire push against the front. Don’t do a burnout. Then “slowly” but quickly release the clutch as you increase throttle. 🤙🏻 still, 4 seconds is pretty good!

It's all about usable power. There's nowhere for me to open up my R6 to +10,000 rpm on the streets "legally". So it's less fun for the streets, whereas the RS660 can do both street/track competently.

Had a Daytona 675. I was curious how this would stack up or if I'd get bored with it compared to the Daytona. I've always wanted an Aprilia but don't exactly have use for the full rsv4 power. Having ridden the triumph triple series, what would you think?

    • @flip_moto
      @flip_moto  Год назад +1

better than a stock 675 for sure. a race prepped D675R might have the edge, and the newer 765 moto2 are more in the GSX750R territory.

@flipmoto thank you! I was wondering because if I recalled correctly the 675 had about 120hp(at least my last one did from the dyno). And the Aprilia having -20 at 100hp had me wondering

@@victoratkins9456 The RS is obv less powerful, but functionally speaking and I reply as a long time rider of 600 class bikes and have owned a GSXR750.... I am not bored at ALL with the RS. Unless you're doing top speed highway runs there's only so much difference to notice, the RS at the track or in the curves absolutely rips due to it's lower end power and lightness.
Also you'll enjoy ergo's that'll still get you in a nice attack position(I hate naked bike ergo's, upright like a sail in the wind) but can ride all day unlike the stereotypical supersport where I'm needing a break after an hour.
Year old post, but you should still get an RS660 haha.
