    My favourite thing still with this bike is it's a no compromise styling compared to its peers. Yes the ergo's will suffer and be closer to a supersport, but it's absolutely worth it because this design absolutely blows anything comparable out of the water like the CBR650 or Ninja 650.

    Hi everyone, here are some things I missed out that are worth mentioning. The 0-100 time is 4.4 seconds. The gearing could be a little shorter for the street. Neutral is tricky to find, it did get easier the longer I had the bike. The bike is definitely built to a price, could be a sign of the times, but if you look at a Street Triple RS, the build quality is noticeably higher. Still, top bike and an absolute blast to ride and it's hard to put a price on that. Cheers and hope you enjoyed the vid

    Great review. They must be pricing them higher down-under. In the US, they are selling all day long for $11,399 which, converted to AUD, is about $16,400. According to your vid, that puts it cheaper than the ZX6 and the RS is a far superior bike. They also have a $500 discount for first responders and military. I ended up getting the Tuono version and, with discount, it was $9999US or $14,300AU. That's a steal, and it's an absolutely fantastic and comfortable bike.... with Cruise Control :)

    I own this bike in the Acid Gold colour scheme and as my first "real" bike I absolutely LOVE IT! I say "real" because I live in the UK and until you pass your full test you can't ride anything bigger than a 125cc on the public roads. Yes it's expensive but with the rider aids I still think it represents value for money, plus it looks FANTASTIC and handles brilliantly as far as I'm concerned. As an older new rider I think it will take me a while to find the limits you were referring to and by then I will probably be looking to add a Tuono V4 of some description but like I said that's way into the future.

    I had been looking at one of these and a tuono, decided to pick up a R7 instead. I already have a KTM 890 Duke R and a Hypermotard RVE so I didn't really want another exotic right now. Plus the R7 was only 10k out the door. Out of those 3 the Duke 890R is still my favorite and so good at everything. I've not had a ton of time with the R7 since it's winter in upstate New York at the moment but first impressions are excellent, the suspension seems really solid. My only complaint is I wish they had went with higher clip ons like the RS660, I rode it 73 miles home from the dealer and I was definitely starting to feel it.
    The Tuono 660 Factory has my eye for the future but by the time it is out will KTM/Husky have new platforms using the 890 motor. Definitely could steer me away.

    Many who own this bike have had many issues regarding the engine and electronics. My friend is having a terrible time with his bike, engine lights, stalling, not starting, dealing with the dealership and now excessive vibration ..... His is now looking for a lemon law lawyer.

    Any idea if an Öhlins TTX36 rear shock, and the Öhlins 43 mm upside down NIX30 forks work with this bike?

    • @onthebackwheel
      @onthebackwheel  2 года назад

      Not sure on the exact models, but I know there is a TON of stuff out for them now. Seems to be mostly fork internals and new rear shocks

    The only thing that makes it overpriced are stupid dealer fees

      @onthebackwheel 10999 is what they're charging plus 500 discount before you workout a price. I think it's on par. 8k sounds better though lol.

      @onthebackwheel man, this sounds retarded AF but when I shop for bikes, I look at aesthetics lmao. I had the chance to buy a brand new ducati 950 in red for the same price as the Extrema I'm buying now. I didn't buy it because the Red Ducati is so lame to me. The pearl white would have been a winner on the Ducati for me. So I went with the Extrema at 12,000 brand new. The Ducati is 12700 on sale. The Ducati felt so much nicer bit I don't get that pump when I look at it. Shit, I almost bought the CfMoto 450 in white because of how it looks lol. Only reason I didn't buy that is because there were none to buy.
