Nice bibles! I saw that Thomas Nelson will be releasing the Revised Standard Version in the Sovereign Collection next year and I'm looking forward to it.
I recently got the NKJV Sovereign in brown leather soft and the black genuine leather along with a KJV Sovereign in the black genuine leather. They are my favorite Bibles that I own!
At this time, I have yet to purchase an NKJV Bible (surprisingly, I've already got an NKJV Psalter) -- still new to reading the Bible. Right now, the Sovereign is looking to be my first!
Check out Tim Wilder's Bible reviews on You Tube too. Great channel & he just signed a contract to write a book comparing all the translations to help find the one that's right for you. NKJV is my favorite. Thomas Nelson had a 2020 Premier Bible in blue goatsking I wish I knew about sooner. They don't have it in blue this year. It's green goatskin. I pre-ordered the Humble Lamb NKJV in blue goatskin w/the Shepherd design on the page edges. This blue Bible looks great too. I tend to like blue goatskin or leather.
Those are really lovely. I kind a love black Bibles myself, maybe cause Brown is your name😂. I do love the the layout of the Bible, I'd have a go for one the imitation leather ones but since they are red letter text I'll pass. Maybe someone needs to tell Thomas Nelson and Zondervan that not everyone can read or even like red letter text Bibles. I'm in both categories. I absolutely love the NKJV but can't read the red letter so when Jesus speaks, I would not be able to read it. So these Bibles would be useless to me. I'm also hoping that one day Thomas Nelson will make an NKJV with text and translators notes only, no references, not every Bible they make has to be a reference Bible (that's why I've not gone for a McLaren plus the other things you said about it). I also prefer double column Bibles to single column Bibles. I use the ESV and NKJV and while I can find black letter text ESV Bibles, the one I love the most is red letter. Not sure why every non Premier collection bibles needs to be red letter Bibles. Other than the red letters, these are really lovely Bible.
Thanks for your review. I just got the black leathersoft yesterday. I very much like the text itself. Very easy to read. I am having a harder time finding the references in the bottom. I have always had Thompsons with the references in the side. It really is quite stiff. Thanks again.
Do you remember if all these sovereign versions have the same paper ? Seeking a rebind candidate. That paper seems a little course not smoother like what’s used in the premium collection versions
I was watching this video cause i need to buy a wide margin bible NKJV bible for the bible college that i am going to, and i need something that will last a long time.
Thanks for the review! This looks a really nice bible. Would you happen to know anything about the wide margin that's supposed to be coming out at the end of the year? I want to know if they'll be doing the wide margin the same as the large print wide margin that only had one margin or if it will have two margins more like Cambridge or the esv wide margin?
The covers/spine are not my favorite, but that layout is beautiful. I just cannot take verse by verse format! For me it's like reading one loooooooooooooooooooooong run on sentence. It actually makes me a bit panicky. I know that sounds crazy. But these are gorgeous and I love that they have book introductions. I never see that anymore, except for study Bibles.
The big drawback on this bible are the introductions. What happens when you disagree that there were two million Hebrews at the time of the exodus? What happens if they find evidence otherwise? Then your introduction is erroneous.
Yeah respectfully you make a great point. To me the introduction are about like the notes in a study bible if you read mans comentary everytime you'll find something that isnt right or you may not agree with. I still have study bibles i just have to remember only scripture is inspired, and comentary is not. Chew the meat spit out the bone. Introductions would not stop me from buying this bible
That blue Bible is AWESOME! The page guilding and design is soooo UNIQUE! Great Review! 🌄
I think it's black even though it looks blue. He keeps saying black.
Thanks for your review. I picked up a black leathersoft as of your review.
Nice bibles! I saw that Thomas Nelson will be releasing the Revised Standard Version in the Sovereign Collection next year and I'm looking forward to it.
Thanks for the info!
RSV is very good…glad to see people going back to it since the ESV is pretty much a watered down RSV as far as I can tell
I bought my son the brown version. It's a really beautiful Bible and i definitely recommend it
I can't find a brown genuine leather anywhere
I recently got the NKJV Sovereign in brown leather soft and the black genuine leather along with a KJV Sovereign in the black genuine leather. They are my favorite Bibles that I own!
Great review, very helpful thank you
The RSV Sovereign Collection will come out in August 2024. I will get one.
Nice! Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the feedback. I also prefer cross-references next to their verses.
Randy, is the quality of the Sovereign wide margin better than the personal? The personal I have has inconsistent red print. Thanks.
Hi. The print in mine is consistent. The only thing that stands out to me is a touch of cockling.
Do you remember if all these sovereign versions have the same paper ? Seeking a rebind candidate. That paper seems a little course not smoother like what’s used in the premium collection versions
Hi. They do thave the same paper.
Beautiful ❤️🙏

The Wide Margin Sovereign will have wide margins on all sides like the Cambridge and ESV.

Genuine leather looks significantly thicker than the leathersoft, do you know why that is?
I prefer brown Bibles too. Don't know why. Just comforting I guess.
Please could you compare the NKJV compact single column reference Bible with the compact Maclaren
Yes. I'll try to get it in the next few days.
@@BibleBuyingGuide Thanks very much. I’ve seen both of your reviews for them but seeing them side by side might help me decide which to get.
What is the cost
hi, you make good bible reviews perhaps you should make some more or at least one about study bibles
Are these Bibles still printed in China?
Yes
I'm curious, where are you from? I have a hunch based on your accent, but I want to see how close I am. Also, great video!
Hi! I'm from East Tennessee. 🙂
@@BibleBuyingGuide Dang, I was far off 😂
I was thinking east Texas. Your accent reminds me a lot of Stevie Ray Vaughan's
@@TheMidnightModder that's very similar, so you were still close.
This awesome genuine leather Bible is now available on Amazon for $44! Beware of people who are selling it on Ebay for a lot more!
Exellent review
Thanks!
Little disappointed - i really like the single column in the KJV too.
Red letter completely ruined it it was all good till then.
:)
