This was a major storybook postseason. Raptors go down 1-0 to the Magic, win 4 straight to advance. The Raptors win game 1, but go down 2-1 to the Sixers’ big four. They win 2 straight to take a 3-2 lead. But Philly refuses to go away and pushes the series to 7. It takes a 4 bounce game-winner for the Raptors to win the series. The Raptors go down 2-0 to the Bucks. Everyone says the series is over. It takes the Raptors two overtime’s for them to win Game 3. Everyone says the series is over. The Raptors win the rest of the games to advance. And then of course, winning the finals in 6 games.
That's what made this so exciting and satisfying, the fact they looked done a few times. We all know too well when big baskets or big goals aren't made or scored, so it was nice to see, in such dramatic fashion. Mad Facts!!!! I love when superior athletes go against the grain and prove people wrong. Super team? Unnecessary. Fake injury? I don’t think so. True champions live on forever.
In the end, the downfall of the GSW was their reliance on the big 3. Even though Toronto had the big 1...the rest of the Toronto could ball...and yea that team runs deep. As good as GSW was, they lost because they had all the eggs in that one basket and yea couldn't match it with the depth of Toronto, ironic really. Best "team" in the NBA actually is Toronto.
@@PoliticusRex632 Well that's pretty much my exact point. Who are the Raptors 1st, 2nd and 3rd best players? Obviously Kawhi for 1st but after that its safe to say you could put in an argument for 4 or 5 different players who the 2nd and 3rd are for Toronto. With GSW...you know exactly who their 3 are and if they go down...well there goes their whole team system. Behind Kawhi, Toronto just runs so much deeper than GSW. If the same injuries happened to Toronto besides Kawhi getting injured, Toronto still would have faired much better than GSW. My opinion anyway.
@@travistravis7190 add to that coach nick nurse greatly utilizing his players. Lots of rotations..lots of crafty plays not usually seen in nba nowadays
@@petersonofleo11 You are right Mr Arciniega. Kyle is Raptor most loyal player as well, but I think a team can have more than one leader, leading their team differently but in harmony. My comment was at Pop, who kind of take a swing at Leonard.
This comment makes no sense. Kawhi himself acknowledged that what Pop said was taken out of context. Kawhi wasn't really a leader on the Spurs (with Duncan, Ginobili and Parker, why would he be?). Duncan is the kind of leader that Pop was referring. Duncan never screamed and shout either. This comment is a weird reach. I am a huge Kawhi (and Raptors) fan.
This run was like straight out of a movie, even before the playoffs began with the classic key trades that put the team over the top with the Kawhi/Danny additions and the often not mentioned enough Gasol addition.
Former Cavs fan (Raptors fan since 2018): Congrats, Toronto, Canada! This series is spectacular! Warriors definitely earned my respect, too! Kawhi, Lowry, Gasol, Siakam, Vanvleet, Klay, KD, Curry, Draymond... Thanks for putting up one of the best series I've ever watched.
Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz I really loved Lebron as an NBA player (I still do) even though I live in Toronto. At that time, I was a big fan of Cavs. So when lebron left the east, I started “all-in” for the Raptors.
Kawhi tipped the ball forward rather than grabbing it at the end after Curry missed the last shot so he could not be fouled and was tapping at the ball instead of trying to rip it out of Draymond's hands which would have stopped the clock too. The video cut that sequence out and it was one of the most important parts of the game that shows just how in the moment Kawhi Leonard is to have the wherewithall in that moment to not lose his focus and concentration. Only a champion would think of something like that.
Congratulations Raptors! Amazing to see such hard work pay off! Well deserved : ) Toronto is watching, Canada is watching, the world is watching... keep inspiring Canada created it, Toronto hosted it, Raptors won it. June 14, 2019 Have a great day! : )

This was statistically the best defence put together since the 2004 Pistons. '19 Raps are a historic team. Kawhi, Siakam, Lowry, Ibaka, Gasol, FVV, Powell, Green, McCaw team was loaded, OG wasn't even healthy.

one of the most incredible runs I've ever seen in basketball ... just.. the story lines of this team... the come backs and buzzer beaters... the stategic gambles of trading a franchise player for an all-star rental, or letting go a coach of the year for a rookie coach, and depth of a team built on basically no 1st round, and even player health strategy and load management (agaist a team that failed miserably at load management) and rookie coaching and defensive pairings that shut down all stars, and some of the clutch games and quarters by depth players or underrated players, and just the storyline of Kawhi and Lowry and co. bringing the Raptors its 1st Champion over the modern NBA dynasty team -- just, wow... WOW. 1st team in NBA history to win a Championship after trailing in 3 series and 1st Game 7 buzzer beater to win a series. 1st Champion team based outside the US (and all the stereotypes and recruitment challenges that poses) and 1st Champion for a professional Canadian team -- in any of the big major pro sports -- in 26 years. Not to mention the story line of Kawhi... And the way the rest of the Raptor team was built out of players that were not drafted high. Or the gamble management took... And the rookie head coach and staff out coaching opposing vets (Kawhi on Greek Freak; TOR out-strategizing GSW on health and load management; etc).
Yall killed the evil empire from Oakland. THANK YOU!!! YALL AS A WHOLE COUNTRY DESERVES IT!!!! Congrats but next year....I hope the Lakers get there with y’all.

i mean this is the second time he has stopped a 3peat lol
Now hes with the lakers lol
Game of thrones already predicted the winner.
The north :)
This was the real game of thrones ending.
@@XOZBeaTz we the north
Hopefully in game of zones too
Hopefully they not exile their king like game of thrones did
@Kevin durantula L
Kwahi Leonard
2x Champ
2x Finals MVP
2x DPOY
This guy AND this team is inspiring. I'm genuinely happy they one. Hard work and everytime a mistake was made, they learned from it!!!!
time for league MVP and hes in the top 15 ever
wait scrap that i mean top 10
fried IT no top 5😊
This run was the greatest. Wish we could relive it again without knowing the outcome. What a ride what a journey
This team was so deep and loaded in every position, we're going to look back in 10-15 years and respect this team even more, Lowry, Kawhi, Siakam, Green, Gasol, Ibaka, Van Vleet, Powell, just stacked and we didn't even have OG playing.
That game 7 shot will be remembered in Toronto lore forever!!!!!!! It over shadows the reverse 4-0 sweep over Bucks.
Now Lowry got traded man
Jeremy Lin has more Finals success than Chris Paul
And C. Barkley
Patrick McCaw singlehandedly got a threepeat. That's where the real story is :p
But Jeremy Lin getting a ring follows as a close second. Then the raptors winning. Priorities
And melo westrbrook and harden
alot of nobodies got rings, that means nothing, just say you hate chris paul
He won first than melo and harden LOL 😂😂😂
So the sport that was invented by a Canadian finally has a Canadian Champion.

@whatit do and the first official basketball team was a girls team
Kawhi did to Raptors what Lakers wished Lebron would do for them. Come in the first year and win a Finals. Ultimate GREAT player #TheKlaw is. 🖐🏾💯
exactly
Anthony Mercado
Kawhi made the Raptors champions in his first year with them. Thats the point. Never i said Kawhi is better than Lebron or which team is better... gtfoh numb nut 🥜 😆
Mad Facts!!!! I love when superior athletes go against the grain and prove people wrong. Super team? Unnecessary. Fake injury? I don’t think so. True champions live on forever.
TUAminator_666 these fools cant wrap their mind around an NBA without their God LBJ that’s why they can’t comprehend some of the things you describe.
always knew the lakers should have gone all out for kawhi, not lebron
In the end, the downfall of the GSW was their reliance on the big 3. Even though Toronto had the big 1...the rest of the Toronto could ball...and yea that team runs deep. As good as GSW was, they lost because they had all the eggs in that one basket and yea couldn't match it with the depth of Toronto, ironic really. Best "team" in the NBA actually is Toronto.
Travis Travis...no team in history has lost their 1st and 3rd best player and won the Finals...ever.
@@travistravis7190 Well said. That's more than your opinion. It's facts
@@travistravis7190 add to that coach nick nurse greatly utilizing his players. Lots of rotations..lots of crafty plays not usually seen in nba nowadays
This is the best NBA run Ive seen, even lebron haven't done this kind of championship run. What an awesome of this moment
Not every leader need to scream and shout.
Remember that Pop.
I still think that Lowry is the leader of the team even Kawhi said that Kyle is the quaterback of the team.
@@petersonofleo11
You are right Mr Arciniega. Kyle is Raptor most loyal player as well, but I think a team can have more than one leader, leading their team differently but in harmony.
My comment was at Pop, who kind of take a swing at Leonard.
@@dutchmilk Agree Kawhi is a lead by example kind of guy like Duncan was.
@@dutchmilk Kyle is the vocal leader, Kawhi leads by example.
Thanks for putting up one of the best series I've ever watched.
so, you became a raptors fan once you realized cavs couldnt beat gs, or when lebron left? or am i missing something? :)
I agree, Vito!
That’s lowkey a clutch play. Goat mind
Who’s watching this years later and still getting goosebumps
i do! ;)
The Raptor has found its claw. Whatever said and done, the Raps deserved every bit of the win.
Kawhi is the Klaw of their team
BOARDMAN GETS TITLES!
That's a great tshirt idea
Why did I think that said BOARDMAN GETS TITTIES
YeetusBois why did I think that too
Congratulations Raptors! Amazing to see such hard work pay off! Well deserved : )
Toronto is watching, Canada is watching, the world is watching... keep inspiring
Canada created it, Toronto hosted it, Raptors won it. June 14, 2019

My best memorable years in my life are 2005, 2011, 2019.
Raptors run, kwahi shot, and Lowry smile was so enjoyable and made the year 2019 one of the best in my life
Kawhi left for home but we got a damn title out of it, Canada. It's all that matters

That vanvleets scream you can in the silent oracle was one of the best moments in the raptors history

What a great run for them.

This video gave me chills and made me cry tears of joy for the 25th time since we won game 6... this still doesn’t feel real
Congratulations Canada. You all deserve this championship! Sooo happy for you all.
Pop: Leonard is not ready yet!
Leonard: I will show you wrong.
Masai Ujiri, one of the best behind the scenes!!! hope Toronto offers him ownership n stake or watch him leave for the wizards!!!! PROPS TO THIS SQUAD TOP NOTCH PERFORMANCE FROM ALL
He is now MESSIAH UJIRI!
He really just made some super obvious trades. I think anyone who watched the 2014 finals knew that DeRozan and poeltl for kawhi and Danny green was a hell of a deal even tho Danny green didn't do much this post season it's still huge he was in the trade just for the familiarity and chemistry he has with kawhi after being on the same team through multiple NBA finals
I heard he's in trouble cuz he assaulted a police officer though so keep an eye out for that
Man…gives goosebumps by far the best raps team put together and man oh man this was phenomenal what a run 2019 forever in our hearts…Raptors…
This was statistically the best defence put together since the 2004 Pistons. '19 Raps are a historic team. Kawhi, Siakam, Lowry, Ibaka, Gasol, FVV, Powell, Green, McCaw team was loaded, OG wasn't even healthy.
Khawhi is the man. I've never seen an nba that admirable and humble. #WeTheNorth
Oh, you didn't hear what he later said? ..... "I played them all"
Watching this today hurts. Hopefully in the future when our own homegrown guys become free agents they will want to come home and win another Chip.
Raps be playing well right now! No reason they can't make the ECF this year and if you make it there, who knows what can happen?
This is why I love Toronto. Great sports fans no matter how good or bad their teams are .
Being from Toronto, and what this means to the entire country, all of this brings a tear to my eye
Jeremy Lin first ever Asain American to win a NBA Championship!!!
Marc & Paul Gasol first ever brothers to win NBA Championships!!!
Kawhi Leonard first ever NBA player to win a NBA Championship and NBA Finals MVP in the east and west!!!
Nick Nurse first year as an NBA coach to win a NBA Championship!!!
The Toronto Raptors are the very ever team outside of the USA to win the NBA Championship!!!
We The North - We The Champs!!!
First team to win an NBA Championship without a lottery pick on the roster.
Well said bro. From Montreal
Kawhi, Danny Green and Patrick Mcaw are the first nba players to have won championships in two countries
one of the most incredible runs I've ever seen in basketball ... just.. the story lines of this team... the come backs and buzzer beaters... the stategic gambles of trading a franchise player for an all-star rental, or letting go a coach of the year for a rookie coach, and depth of a team built on basically no 1st round, and even player health strategy and load management (agaist a team that failed miserably at load management) and rookie coaching and defensive pairings that shut down all stars, and some of the clutch games and quarters by depth players or underrated players, and just the storyline of Kawhi and Lowry and co. bringing the Raptors its 1st Champion over the modern NBA dynasty team -- just, wow...
I wish I could live these moments again before I die
As Game of Zones would have put it:
The Kings of the North,
Who became the Kings is the East,
Are now the Kings of the Realm.
Really well done video... Thanks! And a big congrats to the Raptors and Canada!

Congrats but next year....I hope the Lakers get there with y’all.
Thx and WOW, I didn’t realize so many Americans were hoping Raps would beat GSW, I guess American NBA fans we’re sick of the dynasty.

Man what a year 2019 was!

The round 2 dagger really overshadows Kawhi's round 3 performance. Leonard transcended after the Raps went down 0-2.
Wow what a night. I live here in Toronto and the streets were loud! Nothing like love and happiness and a championship to bring everyone together?? A very special night! Thank you raptors much respect and warriors you fought hard and showed true sportsmanship!
