- this rear disc brake kit was bought through summit racing from the company called The Right stuff unfortunately it's more like the wrong stuff because they did not drill the bracket in such a way that it will allow the brake pads to appropriately line up with the rotor or they should have sold this kit with 11 1/4 inch rotor instead of a 11-inch rotor and that would also solve the problem
Unreal Ed !
You didn't confirm the flange hole spread before you ordered your kit. They have different ones available. Oh well.......
@@10hunterLab they only offer one flange as I called the company to verify that I had to correct ones and they said I had as I pointed out in the video the bracket bolts on just fine as far as the bolt holes line up they should just be in deeper so the caliper actually properly aligned with the rotor
@WhoopAzzRacing I have done around 20 of these. Bolt hole flanges are often a problem. You said they fit. The other common problem is that original or replacement axle flanges sometimes do not fit completely flush against the disk rotor. There are 2 ways to fix this. 1. Take the axles and put them in a lathe and very slightly remove the edge built up on the axle. Or 2, take a carbide burr grinder bit and carefully remove said edge. Whichever way you do it, the rotor must fit absolutely flush against the axel. Good luck.
@@10hunterLab that's not the issue I think you're misunderstanding the brake pads set a 1/8 inch higher than the rotor had they drilled the caliper mounting holes 1/8 inch lower the top of the brake pad would be aligned with the caliper or have they drilled the bracket bolts where are they mount to the axle where I had them Marked in black it's not the in and out of the rotor the caliper sits in 8 of an inch too high

@WhoopAzzRacing Opps. I re looked at the video. Can't explain anything other than mis made and drilled brackets. What was the manufacturer explanation? I'd send the brackets back along with pictures and the correct hole locations marked as you did. You shouldn't pay for their problem.
There is no better brake system than the one your vehicle came from the factory with, designed by real automotive engineers not some dude with a mechanic's diploma, real engineers taking all the variables involved with the vehicle size weight and mass at all speeds. Engineering is not just something that a dude with a diploma comes up with, it is science.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Like the engineers who designed the 4 wheel drums on all the early 1960s muscle cars that overheated before you were half-stopped?
Exactly 💯
Yeah spanky "Phil" you're on drugs I guarantee you f****** Willwoods definitely outperform the stock s*** and even though the pads don't line up correctly here these are off of a Cadillac eldorado from 1979 which is every bit is big and probably more on the heavy side than the truck so I'm sure that they will provide better clamping Force I just wish I got to use all of the brake surface
