Hi Katie, the video was brilliant thank you. I have seen those glitter sprays in B&M in gold as wèll. Im just baking my cakes now so was looking for ideas to decorate them. I would have liked to see the sides of the square cake as well. X
Thanks so much! I don’t make many square cakes but I’ll see what I can do x
Thanks
I was actually looking at these snowflake cutters on amazon wondering if they were any good i will now go and buy some :)
Fab!!! 👏
Hi there I made a christmas cake and for the decoration I made a wreath out of these cutters I started with the large one then the medium one and the smaller ones over lapping as you went round then a bow from ribbon I was quiet pleased with it then I gave it to a frend for Christmas a good little investment
@@lindaforrester464 sounds lovely c
@@KatieHomeCook thank you I loved the way you decorated the snowflake cake simple cutters but as you said you can go mad why not and the tin as a guide line for the top in marzipan and the fondant great idear I will watch your clips hope you have a great Christmas and keep safe katie
@@lindaforrester464 thanks so much! You too xxx
Hi Katie, thank you for a fab decorating idea that I can do with my daughter 🤞. Can I ask, did you leave fruitcake showing at the sides where you did the snowdrift effect icing? Many thanks.
Hi! Thanks so much! Yes I leave the sides uncovered... I decorate my cake just a few week before Christmas x
hi katie great job , how do you get your frosting so smooth
It’s fondant… so it comes pretty smooth 😊
Hi Katie, this is the first time I have ever done a fruit cake for Christmas, I have just a question to ask, can I use the jam to stick the ribbon onto the cake or do I have to use the glue, I have bought the snowflake plungers and will definitely be using them to decorate my cake love your cake turned out beautifully thank you 🙏🏻 for sharing
So glad you liked my cake... I’d love to see yours when it’s made... What ribbon are you adding and where? X
@@KatieHomeCook I was going to add a satin ribbon just around the base
@@michellenorton2698 oh ok, personally I would add it then fix with with a pin, but if you use material it might soak up some of the grease x
@@KatieHomeCook thank you 🙏🏻 so much for you help I will definitely take your advice on the pin 📍 ❤️
@@KatieHomeCook I might also try and find some floristry ribbon and that might help with the grease will definitely take some photos for you of my first attempt hope it turns ❤️
Katie, I can't catch the name of the fondant you have switched to.
It’s Massa Tacino, but I also like Couture 😊
How do you store the decorated cake to keep until Christmas?
I usually decorate mine a week or two before Christmas and keep it under a clean dome 😊
you need to leave the marzipan to dry before putting the icing on, or it will bleed through
I’ve never had that problem!! 😊 perhaps your icing is too thin?
