Hi,so,I was able to put 2 AA in the jam door, using a 2 AA holder and then connected it in series to the other 3 AA tray so now it has 5 AA and performs better, but it involves a couple more wires to be ran
I often leave the stock switches for the jam doors and nip the wires at the switch ears to help maintain "function". Great guide, keep at it! Glad to see people doing stuff in this hobby just to learn how things go/work, is pretty much what got me started.
I think it's Great to show a economical mod, not every Nerf Blaster needs a $100 mod. One of the reasons I enjoy thrifting foam blasters is it can be relativly cheap. So budget minded Mods makes perfect sense to me, thanks for showing the way !
Hey thank you for the note! I think they don’t need it, and I know I can’t afford it lol. Happy to spend an evening making a blaster better for the cost of some wire and solder :)
First off, can't wait to watch this later when I have time. Second, OMFG! I went to pick up those Ultra blasters and when I got there they said they were selling because they shot way too hard. I asked if there were any others that shot too hard and they went and grabbed a Nerf Ultra Speed! I immediately said that there's no way I could afford that. They said just take it! They were glad it was going to a good home! I'm still in shock 😲🤣🔫
Thx for this awesome guide my friend! I definitely have to make a Barricade soon because of this two stage trigger! ! ! And I definitely need this extended battery door widened up for the 9V package, pleeeeaaaase xero1tec 😊
Haha, I think he’s unavailable because of work right now but I also plan to beg him as well :) I’m glad you watched and enjoyed! I know you’ve done a bunch to the barricade (thanks for the flywheel cage file) but hopefully it was at least entertaining to see me keep changing my mind on how to mod it haha
Hello, late response, but great mod! I just have a couple of questions: Where did you get the motor cage that you used? And can I use a 12V battery instead of a 9V one? Would you recommend it?
I've also heard that the Stockade has worse motors (sometimes referred to as "pancake motors") than the Barricade. However, the Stockade has wider flywheels and a (possibly) tighter cylinder with better dart retension
Hey! I'm watching the video right now and quite enjoy it. Due to my safety concerns with Li-Po, I've been searching for alternative solutions to flywheel modding. I plan to mod my Stryfe and was wondering if Barricade stock motors can handle 11.1v? I want to use Coolook LFPs (OOD carries them and a charger) because they are simple and safe.
11.1 would be pretty high. Only one way to find out lol. But I think that is too much. Get some hobby motors from OOD while you are buying other stuff is my reco. And thanks!
@@maritimefoam Since I don't want to use Li-Po I'll have to experiment. I plan to document all my testing and post it for everyone to see. Since 11.1v is too high, do you think a 7.4v Lithium battery(s) or a 9.6v NiMH would be a good alternative?
Well maritime foam I’m gonna be using this video to help with a barricade I just got cheap on eBay cause the seller said that the motors turn on and the cylinder rotates but doesn’t push or fire the darts! So I’m gonna fix it cause I’m good at stuff like that and it’s fun, Ive modded other blasters (rayven stinger with better motors and rewire) with ak blaster mods (nerf star lord blaster stronger springs) and worker stuff! But the reason I got it is because it’s the trans formers bumblebee one😳 which I think was a comic con special and it’s in excellent shape👍🏻
Is there an easy way to mod the flywheel cage, like a way to keep everything wired together still while changing the flywheel cage while also being able to do almost any cutting or part fitment
Wait, if the reason it won’t fire anything but Whistler darts is because the fly wheels are too far apart. Couldn’t you just wrap some tape around the fly wheels to make the gap smaller so that elite darts would catch on them better I don’t really mod blasters so I don’t really know what I’m talking about. Look at that technically work.
@@maritimefoam oh okay my dad just bought me a barricade and Day after he bought it, I saw that you couldn’t fire elite darts out of it and I only have like 30 or 40 whistler darts and when I saw the problem was that the fly wheels were too far apart I assumed I could just put some like duct tape around them
I mean the duct tape would hold for a while and all I have too do is Take it apart move the little wheels rip off the tape, clean them off put new tape on and put them back in
@@maritimefoamI like your vids thanks for replying man could you go to my channel and look at my little nerf six dart mag mod video and share your thoughts on it

Brilliant! Great way to stick to AA power and keep it a sleeper!
Pinning this so people see it!
That's an awesome idea! I need to get a barricade 😎 wish the gear up version would be available

Hey thank you for the nice comments! I feel like this is the perfect attitude for my imperfect guides haha, we’re just here to learn and try our best.
This, the switch will help hold the door closed, also those lol switches are pretty garbo

Blessed work, this blaster has a real special place for me
That’s awesome! Glad you enjoyed it! And I like hearing when people have fond blaster memories

Ha, thank you! Comments like this make my day, appreciate it :) take care
I love sleepers. I love old things turning into a resto-mod. I love orange. Well done!
Same! Sleepers are kinda my fav even though I respect the heck out of good paint. Though, I love integrations

A free Ultra Speed is a legendary thrift.
Love how cool the Gear Up looks. I swore if I ever got a gear up Recon I'd mod it into something awesome.
I couldn’t resist doing something with the gear up one either :)

Really late response but I believe there's a solvent weld in the cage which is why you had to pry it open
You are correct!
IIRC Xero1tec also has a super cool body kit and stock for the Barricade too.
Yes! The tactical one lol
Oh yes! I’m planning to do that to a yellow one :)
Hello, late response, but great mod!
I just have a couple of questions:

Thanks! Links to parts are in the description. As I mention, 9v NIMH is as high as I’d go without replacing switches, 12v is likely to burn them out.
I have heard a rumour that the original Barricade motors can handle 3s like a champ :)
When I do the tactical one and replace switches I might let it roll. I like saving motor money lol.

I found a barricade at a thrift store for 4 bucks and was very surprised to see it only runs on 3 AA batteries

The short answer is not really. It would be harder to change the change and keep everything else than to just rewire it all

I talk about this in the video: people used to do that, but it doesn’t work that well. Wheel balance is off and eventually the tape loosens etc

wondering what the spacing for that new cage is?
myb i missed it
Check out foam.blasted on instagram, he has it available maybe even for free? I am not sure of the spacing offhand.
