A very simple modification to a car's headlights that could potentially minimize deer hits. Something that would cost next to nothing to research and develop.
I think it's a great idea! It would give travelers more notice of the potential danger with time to slam the brakes. The problem is deers freeze when they see headlights. But still it would be better because the traveler would see it. The e deer would freeze... eventually he'll go. All you got to do is be slam your brakes on, beep the horn, shut the lights off or blink the lights and then maybe the deer would move along but at least the traveler would have notice and time.
That's basically what happened to the family member I mentioned. She said, more than once, if she would have had another fraction of a second to hit the brakes she would have avoided the accident altogether. There's a lot of people who would probably shoot this idea down, but that's because they've never hit a deer. Thank you for weighing in!
