For anyone going through this - I had 4 specific Locs that were literally hanging on by maybe 5-6 different hairs, if I did one little tug, that loc would have popped right off. I was guilty of over touching those specific Locs because I was constantly "checking on them". I gave vitamin D a try (regular pill supplement) and kept my hands OUT OF MY HAIR for a solid 2 months (not including wash days). From then, I had major new growth that could revive those Locs and now I live by not touching my hair, especially scratching it (even with the revitalizer comb that's supposed to be 'safe') and made sure to get my daily dose of vitamin D. My entire head feels 10 times better than my previous 2 years of having Locs. Currently, the 4 Locs are technically still my 'thinnest', though they are catching up in the right direction and that's all I could've wished for. In the next year I expect to not even notice the difference. I hope this helps someone before it's too late.

I believe stress is a real problem cuz: Today I’m laying in bed right, trying to get my 2nd sleep (I first sleep for 5 hours then I’m up for 2hrs and sleep again for another 2 hours. I’m a Uni student so I can manage this pattern when it comes up). So as I’m falling asleep I can hear that my thoughts are anxious and the front top of my head was getting warmer. That spot that’s soft on newborn babies. And everytime I would breathe and think happier thoughts, it would feel cooler and the thought energy felt like it was coming from the back of my head. These warm and cooler sensations I was feeling on the inside. I wasn’t touching my scalp.

I hate touching my hair, HOWEVER... 1)I am in the gym training 6 days a week, 2) I live in Texas. I cover my hair at the gym and I cover them at night, unless I sleep on a silk pillowcase. My loc bonnets are also silk. My locs were thinning (not really the locs, mostly the edges) for a long time until my current loctician told me to stop covering it at the gym (with bandanas). So now I use a silk scarf and take it off when I leave the gym. Edges are looking better, and the 3-4 locs that were thinning were fixed by my loctician. I hope to one day have them 1/2 way down my back. For now, they're about 3" past my shoulders. Longest they've ever been.

I greatly appreciate you and your kind spirit... your video answering weather or not white ppl can wear dreadlocks gas been shared more times than I can count on my personal Facebook page and many of my friends pages.

    Plz knw you are appreciated!
I do have 2 questions though.
    1. How often do you recommend doing the roots? My dreads were done using the back comb and crochet method.
    2. Do you recommend doing an apple cider vinegar soak? (apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, baking soda & warm water) and if so how often do recommend doing one?
Again thank you so very much for being who you are.

I was just told that men at 40 to about 45 shouldn’t get locs. Just because of balding. Apparently the locs get too heavy, causing them to pull at the root. That’s another way to lose your hairline. Again, I was just told this. I’m in the middle ofof growing my hair so that I can get locs. I just want to know the truth that’s all 🤷🏽‍♂️. I’m 40 so I’m wondering what’s true, and false.

I’m an “overtoucher.” Always touching squeezing measuring. I drive myself crazy. Smh.

I never saw locks like yours, your silhouette must look like a male Medusa, very interesting, I am white and I have one dread, it contains all my head hair, I didn't plan it I just don't mess about with my hair so it became what it is, a completely natural one dread, people think it's cool but I ain't bothered about being cool an shit, I live my life and leave my hair to do it's own thing.

Great video and very informative. My mother used to b aid very tight and I would run my fingers through the braids on the scalp to ease the pain. I don’t touch my hair much when it isn’t locked, but once I lock it I notice I’m doing the same things even though there is no pain now. Can you recommend a way to stop doing that? Also what do you recommend is a good time frame to wait between touch ups, also to help with hair growth to make it thick again. Thank you very much.
