I think the song farmhouse by FISH has a good song description for the black flies. Thanks for the inspiration to get out and enjoy our lands while we can.
Someone on Facebook was saying that a ranger they encountered was able to issue them their free permits on the spot. That's extremely convenient for someone like me who isn't able to make it down to a station before 4:30pm during the week!
There is absolutely no reason to not follow the rules. Like I always say. It's not really about the gold it's about spending the day on a beautiful river. I would still go even if all I could use was a spoon.

This is the first I ever heard about not be allowed to take home concentrates. Many of us like to take our concentrates home, work with a magnet, and carefully separate the fine flour gold. I wonder how they come up with these rules? Even California allows Prospectors to take home concentrates. I will stick to Baker River outside of WMNF from now on. Also, you failed to mention in the video no sluice boxes, not even mini ones, in WMNF. Looking forward for Wednesday episode. Couple questions. Is there only blue pans for sale or do you sell the black ones also. As we now know the blue ones crack faster. And second question is what’s the difference in spring and fall honey. Maybe sweetness. Looking forward to ordering soon.
The pans that cracked were 16" pans from Keene that I bought from Twin River last fall. The blue pans I sell on our site are from Martin Prospecting and they are 14". I haven't had any cracking issue with those but I don't use them a lot because my classifier is a bit to large for those 14" pans. I use a 16" blue pan from Pioneer. They don't crack and the plastic is more durable but they get white spots on them almost right away that get worse with time. The white spots do funny things to my camera when filming and the gold doesn't show up as good. So I just use them until they got too many spots and then get a new one. When I'm not filming I use a black 16" pan from Estwing. That's why I chose the Martin pan to sell because they are strong and don't get white spots on them and they are blue like what I use. You will see what I mean in an upcoming episode...I have a blue pan with spots....Now for the honey....The fall Honey has a stronger honey flavor. The spring light colored honey has a lighter less strong flavor. It's a personal taste. People who really like honey and eat a lot of it choose to buy the darker honey. Honey Connoisseurs usually choose dark honey. People who use honey for cooking and want little to no flavor but only sweetness choose the lighter honey. Peace. Bee Groovy
Thankyou for taking the time to reply. I just had to ask about the blue pans before I purchase one from you guys. And Thankyou for the knowledge on the honey. Appreciate all.

You can not use a sluice box in the White Mountain national Forest. No matter what size. Only a small hand trowel, classifier and pan. Nothing else is allowed.
