@@AmericanGoldProspectors Always Bryan... love the shite you get up to! One day, when I'm big, you're gonna have to show me the ropes - all over the US... but mostly in Alaska!
I love the location! I have been there before and did some panning there in the Swift and a few others too. Found some gold in all of them. Not like Alaska or California, but gold nonetheless and great scenery.
@@AmericanGoldProspectors I am in Australia and going to if I get chance go prospecting, do you have any advice on metal detectors, or small wash boxes ?
I have always found mercury at that spot on your 2nd and 3rd day. From the gold I got there it didn’t seem to be as bad further up or further down which is weird.
@@mattlacroix2647 That's what I assumed, I'm sure it's done other places but I've seen a few videos of people in Africa still using mercury and they inhale it like it's nothing.
It’s from the old timers 100 years ago. They had super long wooden sluice on that river and payed tons Mexican workers to shovel into it all summer. There is a cool book about the history of gold mining in the area called “ The next bend in the river”. I definitely recommend it, some cool local knowledge and some interesting characters in it.
To further add to my comment below: And if you make it strong enough and big enough you can alter a current of water with it. Something to think about. It can work.
I did well on the Swift like 35 yrs ago. Also did ok on the Swift River in NH. Back then gold was cheap around $300 p/o. It got real cheap around 2000, like $250 p/o. I had bought a bunch of it then and sold most around 2011/2012 as I had a guy paying full price. Most of my stuff was 99.9% coins @ around $1800 p/o. I did have a bunch of Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle Coins most of them PCGS rated. Did well with them. It was a good time as I also sold a Amazing Spiderman #1 along with a slew of other comics and my 1933 Goudey Baseball cards Being out on the river was always such a great time. Was that a blunt Jay was smoking? He seemed to hide right quick, oh yeah he was definitely hiding it. Who cares it's legal
I think I seen you in Maine on Monday or two ago I wanted to ask you how much gold you found but my friend said it probably wasn't a good idea which I don't know if it was you or not but you were on the West Branch I've never actually seen gold before if you can give me an idea of where I can go in Massachusetts to find some gold I'll give you a secret what happened to us when we were out there
Its nice that gold dredges remove all that toxic lead that fishermen leave in the streams and rivers.
I Miss your videos great Job I have a 4” inch Keene can’t wait to go dredge

Strange. Thanks for watching!
Why is there so much mercury in the gold? Is this some kind of water contamination? Great video, I look forward to your next adventure.

As I'm sure you know Maines motorized season doesn't start till June 15 and ends September 15th .....
This was June 15 a few years ago.
Another amazingly fun video Bryan, thanks for putting so much effort in! Question: Do you ship your merch to UK?
Just ordered mug and T-shirt, hope it helps support you just a little bit :)

It wasn't me because I am in Nome, Alaska for the summer. Deerfield river is the only place I found gold in MA.
Or the assabet river in northboro mass but very gross river
You’re killing the environment using that 2-stroke oil burner winch. You should use electric ⚡️. How dare you .😂😅🤣 lol….
Haha! I'm not very green!
