This hull would have a hell of a lot more directional stability in clear water, and in any kind of seas, than an airboat. Try cornering at speed, in a chop, in an airboat. In fact, just try _using_ an airboat in anything more than a few inches of waves. They pound like crazy, and are very inefficient. There's a reason why flat-bottomed hulls aren't used on *any* watercraft other than houseboats and airboats: they suck in anything other than calm water.

I've had a 200 hp gasoline powered on since 2006 it looks like pretty much the same thing. The closed loop cooling would be a plus but I've never clogged mine as the impeller that drives the boat is the water pump but a closed loop never has to be back flushed.

So what happens when the props hit a big rock? In Alaska, air boats are used a lot as well as jet motors, especially in the rivers that can get very shallow quick. We have TONS of rocks so don't see this type of boat as a player up here...
